Mercedes-Benz has announced that they will be developing an electric version of the SLS AMG. The very first prototype of this SLS AMG E-Cell electric car was revealed in AMG Lumilectric Mango yellow paint.
The SLS E-Cell will be powered by 526hp and 649ft-lbs of torque electric motor capable of spinning at 12,000 rpm. To complete the package of this exclusive emissions-free electric supercar, Benz has incorporated LED headlights, staggered 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) wheels wrapped in 265/35 and 295/30 rubber, respectively. The interior is a combination of black and white Alcantara and leather lined on the steering wheel, seats, center console and door linings. Also inside you will find a large touch-screen LCD mounted long-ways surrounded by carbon fiber accents.
We expect the SLS E-Cell to be compared to, and possible compete with, the Porsche 918 Spider.
