Obviously the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid was not enough for Porsche. The Germans wanted to push the envelop even further, hence their creation of the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid and now a full-on race car, the Porsche 918 RSR. The Porsche 918 is modeled after the infamous 917 but has advanced tech that you would expect in 2011.
The new RSR version of the 918 is slightly different from the 918 Spyder Hybrid, it is basically a true-breed race car. The 918 RSR, just like the 918 Spyder Hybrid, features internals made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. The RSR version should pack a combined 767 horsepower from its hybrid drivetrain with part of that coming from a 6.2-liter V8 that revs to an astonishing 10,300 rpm.
