The Le Mans race has always been somewhat of a speciality for Porsche. The German automotive company has always worked hard in getting their Porsche’s performance ready for the grueling race. Luckily for them, it seemed to have payed off, as they have won Le Mans many a time.
The ‘man-that-know-about-cars’, Chris Harris, recently had an amazing opportunity: To drive in the Rothmans-liveried Porsche 962C at their Weissach race course. And, of course, he accepted.
Both the Porsche 962 and the 917K has won the 24-hour race. The 917K won the race consecutively in 1970 and 1971.
Adding to Porsche’s list of great wins at Le Mans is the 936 that won in 1976, 1977 and 1981. Also the 935 that took the title in 1979 and lastly, the impressive 956 that won an incredible four times between 1982 and 1985.
With Porsche’s exceptional legacy, Chris Harris truly had the chance of a lifetime.
