In the current C6 Corvette, the interior is something you try to simply overlook because the rest of the car is so good. The switchgear is straight out of the GM bargain parts bin, while the thin and flimsy seats are designed by Spanish Inquisition star Torquemada and built, apparently, by Playskool. In a $25,000 car, the interior was forgivable, but at the Corvette’s price point it drew near-universal criticism.
GM listened, and the upcoming C7 Corvette Stingray boasts the first interior that was finalized in a collaboration between the design and production teams. As the video explains, no surface was overlooked, and the new Stingray will clearly show more attention to detail, fit and finish.
Even the seats, from their description, sound better, and we can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the new Stingray. To be honest, we never saw ourselves as the Corvette type, but the C7 allegedly has the performance and style to make us reconsider that. If this video is any indication, the Corvette finally has the interior it deserves, too.
