The SerpaS project was first commissioned by Aznom of Monza and now, Camal design center delivered a genuine coachbuilt weapon for the race track.
Its name, SerpaS, means “The Snake” (il Serpas), and its specs are rather impressive. It’s got a 2.6-liter V8 engine, putting down 363 PS (358 HP) at 10,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 276.5 Nm (204 lb-ft). The best part though? It’s expected to weigh just 900 kg (1,984 lbs).
Initially, the SerpaS will be available with a conventional propulsion system, though by the year 2020, customers will be able to order a full electric version as well.
Moving on to the interior, which was designed and crafted by Aznom, it’s supposed to reflect a modern interpretation of vintage Italian cars. There is leather and carbon fiber to be found inside, as well as a deflector in front of the cockpit, like on vintage race cars. Also worth noting is that the SerpaS has no doors due to its reduced height. However, the general consensus is that you can easily climb inside over the side of the car.
The body of the SerpaS was molded from handmade aluminum, yet there are also a few technical components made out of carbon fiber too, such as the front splitter, rear diffuser and engine hatch.
Once they place their orders, future customers will also receive access to an “Experience” package, resulting in guided tours of the workshop and a driving course on the Monza circuit.
