Losing sleep because you lost your chance to buy a Frozen Black or Frozen Gray limited-edition BMW M3? Get ready for your third chance to own a primered “Frozen” BMW, since the company has announced it will build 40 Frozen Silver M3 Competition Edition Coupes, in honor of the M Division’s 40th birthday. Each comes in don’t-even-think-about-taking-it-though-a-car-wash Frozen Silver, with black hood intakes and dark chrome exterior trim. Matte black M3 GTS wheels complete the exterior look, while the interior gets black Novillo Leather with palladium silver accents and stitching.
Under the hood, the Frozen Silver cars get the standard M3’s 4.0-liter V-8, good for 414 horsepower and mated to a double clutch transmission (no manual is available). The included Competition Package gives you a 10mm lower ride height, 19-inch wheels with a wider offset, enhanced stability control programming (in M Dynamic mode) and Electronic Damping Control. Frozen Silver cars also get the Cold Weather Package (heated seats and headlight washers, primarily), the Premium Package (power folding mirrors, universal garage door opener, keyless entry, power rear sunshade, power front seats, rearview mirror compass, Park Distance control) and a navigation system.
In keeping with the limited-edition theme, each of the first 40 BMW M-Certified dealers will be allocated one car, which comes at a sticker price of $81,060 before you add “additional dealer markup.” If you want one, prepare to pay generously for it.
