Once again, images have been leaked to the public before the car manufacturer is ready to reveal its latest model. Most recently, this is the case with the Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster that may be revealed at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.
The image, that appears to be from a brochure shows the new 2013 SL from the front and rear with the top both on and off with an additional shot of the sleek interior. The new SL features an innovative lightweight aluminum body that is considerably lighter than its predecessor with a total weight that is reduced by 140 kg. This assists with the economy of the vehicle and makes it a more enjoyable driving experience. The design carries many of the features of the SLK including a bigger grille dominating the fascia and new headlights.
The engine range will likely start with the same 3.5-litre 300 hp or so V6 unit as the SLK. But the one everyone will want is the top-of-the-range SL 63 AMG version with the new 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 that will arrive shortly afterwards.
