Audi has recently unveiled the interior of its next-generation 2013 Audi A3 at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. While the car will only be officially revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, there are some details about the new car’s interior that are now available.
The main feature of the Audi’s interior is its simple design and clean layout. Design and layout features include a gesture-recognizing touchpad that is integrated in the round rotary pushbutton making it a touch-wheel, an electrically deploying 7-inch display at just 11mm in thickness, a dash-mounted monitor that generates 3D graphics and the Audi Phone Box – a universal interface between the car and mobile phone.
As for the interior technology, Audi is promoting its latest Audi Connect initiative that covers the intelligent networking of cars with the owner and the Internet.
Most of the vehicle functions on the new A3 will be controlled by Audi’s intuitive touch-pad system, already found in premium models like the A7 and A8. Probably the most useful feature will be the new voice activation control system which Audi has promised will work with Google point-of-interest search for the navigation as well as many other vehicle functions.
