Even the smallest, most exotic car manufacturers have to put their supercars through the normal crash test procedures to ensure that they’re safe and compliant with the regulations.
However, and unlike the bigger mass-production manufacturers which can spare more than a few cars for the safety and homologation tests, Koenigsegg is using a single car for the task since they tend to be multi-million hand-made objects of speed and desire.
It’s cheaper for Koenigsegg to rebuilt the beater car after each test than to build another one this way. Apart from the classic crash tests from different angles, there are also the so-called abuse tests, where the car is driven over curbs and other torture-like situations.
The funny thing is however that Koenigsegg released the dubstep-filled video on its Instagram account to celebrate 1 million followers.
At least the dubstep background music makes the whole thing less painful to watch somehow!
