Infiniti is making many changes in a forward movement lately. Not only have they revamped their entire vehicle model nomenclature, but they have set their sights on introducing a new Direct Response Hybrid system in the new Q50 Hybrid.
The new 2014 Infiniti Q50 was already revealed to us at the Detroit Auto Show getting rave perceptions from the crowd as well as many automotive media outlets. Adding to the Q50 line with a new ‘Driect Repsonse Hybrid’ should only add to everyone’s appeal and anticipation of the Q50 and other Inifiniti vehicles to come down the pipeline.
The video below takes us on a short journey with Formula One driver Sebastien Buemi behind the wheel of the new Infiniti Q50 Direct Response Hybrid on the Nurburgring. The new Q50 Direct Response Hybrid is said not to have a torque converter and utilizes the instant power from the electric motor in conjunction with the gasoline engine at all times during acceleration in an extremely efficient manor.
From Buemi’s description of his driving experience, it looks as if we are in for a ‘performance’ treat with a hybrid drivetrain under the hood. It may sounds rather like an oxymoron in saying “performance hybrid”, but if anyone is going to bring such a thing to market Infiniti can do the job.
