Even though deliveries won’t officially begin until 22 June, some Tesla Model S buyers have already begun to receive their purchases.
The first recipient of the vehicle was venture capitalist and Tesla board member Steve Jurvetson who drove the car out the factory in Fremont, California with the number plate appropriately stamped with TSLA 1. Jurvetson had already made sure that he would receive the first Model S at a board meeting in 2010.
The entire first batch of Model S vehicles is made up of the sold-out Signature Series that offers the best performance of 0-60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 130 miles per hour, and range of up to 320 miles.
