We all know AMG as Mercedes-Benz’s in house performance tuner. What many of us don’t know, however, is how AMG got started.

Finally AMG (along with Mercedes) has released a short, 10-minute documentary on the upbringing of AMG and how the German company got absorbed into Mercedes-Benz.

The documentary reveals many interesting facts, for instance; what AMG actually stands for.

AMG was founded by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher . Aufrecht was born in Großaspach, Germany. So thus, AMG stands for Aufrecht, Melcher and Großaspach – AMG. Interesting to know. We bet that will come pretty handy during 30 Seconds game…
