2012 Mercedes-Benz SL Spotted at Nürburgring

The test runs of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL have been on in Nürburgring motor sport complex in Germany. Although there were enough masking over the spectacular design changes, the spied photographs revealed the distinguish mark of Mercedes-Benz design on the flatter front nose of the car. The model has been designed by the company on a platform that resembles a classic body shape.

The company has reduced the weight of the vehicle to improve agility, performance and fuel-economy by the increased usage of reinforced plastics and carbon fiber components. The Parent company Daimler had revealed about a deal that they initiated for developing these materials with Japanese textile maker Toray Industries. They developed the materials exclusively for the upcoming next generation SL.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL is likely to be rolled out in the first quarter of 2011 and the variants are expected to bear the 3.5 liter V6 and the new 4.6 liter twin-turbo V8 from the legendary auto maker.
