Mugen’s Take On The Base Civic Hatch Is Subtle Yet Still Stands Out

Along with the RC20GT Honda Type R study we showed you earlier today, Mugen also brought a sporty Civic hatchback prototype to the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show to showcase a multitude of exterior and interior parts.

According to the Japanese tuner, there should be a sense of unity and power to the Civic, even in non Type-R form, and if you look close at this prototype, you’ll see what they mean.

Starting with the front end, there’s a carbon fiber grille garnish, and a bumper garnish, which match up with the custom spoiler lip. Along the sides there’s a set of custom skirts, while the rear features an under-spoiler, dual exhaust tips and a wing spoiler.

The wheels boast a two-tone black mirror paint finish and measure 19″ in size. Mugen states that the recommended tire size is 235/35R19.

There are also multiple color variations to choose from for the body work, such as Frame Red, White Orchid, Crystal Black, Luna Silver and Brilliant Sporty Blue.

Inside, there’s a new engine starter switch, sports mats and custom scuff plates, featuring the tuner’s name and logo.
