Mercedes Tries To Sweet Talk Us Into Loving The 2018 S-Class

Since unveiling the updated 2018 S-Class during last year’s Shanghai Auto Show, Mercedes hasn’t shied away from using as many superlatives as possible to describe it.

Even though the exterior didn’t undergo any major changes, the 2018 S-Class does feature a more aggressive front bumper, new headlights, a new radiator grille and darkened taillights with new LEDs at the rear.

Inside, it has a sportier, flat-bottom steering wheel (with touch-sensitive controls), an updated sound system, wireless charging, updated displays, plus the industry-first ENERGIZING Comfort feature, tailored to create a bespoke environment.

Another major selling point is made up of various semi-autonomous functions, such as Remote Parking Assist, Active Proximity Assist, Steer Assist, Lane Change Assist and Emergency Stop Assist.

When it comes to driving the S-Class, The 612 PS 4.0-liter biturbo V8 powering the S63 4MATIC+ should thrill just about anybody. In a straight line, it will take you from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds, or 0-60 in 3.4 sec.
