A set of photos has surfaced on a blog dedicated to the Audi R4. The blog has claimed that these are pictures of the unreleased car, taken just before the car was covered up following a stunt in the Austrian Alps. The stunt had the car being airlifted by a helicopter around the mountain range.
The car in the photos shows several similarities to the Audi e-tron, which it is supposedly based on, and also some new developments.
The pictures reveal that the lenses that have been installed look more traditional that the e-tron, with the shape of the headlights staying almost the same.
This change results in the cluster of front lights looking like a mix of the lamps on the A1 and those on the e-tron. The front lip spoiler is much less obvious, as is the rear, which has been restyled.
Adding to the superb visual are the seven double-spoke alloy wheels, which are se over large, drilled discs and big red brake calipers – a marked change from the usual concept car wheels.
Insiders say that the Audi R4 will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in a near-production state. Some reports say it is likely that Audi may show it off as a Spyder as well as a coupe.
