1967 Auctioned Corvette breaks World Record

Corvette L88

A 1967 L88 Corvette Convertible, has broke the record for the most expensive Corvette ever sold at auction.

The record breaking price? A cool $3.2 million!

Mecum, a world leader in live auctions of, amongst others, Corvette’s, held their third auction in Dallas Texas – and this is where this beautiful car was picked up for that mammoth amount.

The car has a beautiful, traditional Marlboro Maroon colour and a classy black soft top. Because their were only 20 of these beauties built in 1967, you can imagine that one that is still in perfect condition is quite the collectors item!

This L88 was impeccably restored to it’s original condition by the Nabers Brothers in Houston, Texas. It still has it’s original interior and body panels. Their work is clearly spectacular, if this good looking car picked up more the three million at auction!

During it’s heyday in the late 60′s and 70′s, the L88 Corvette was mostly used as a drag racing car.

With a 430 horsepower and 7-liter engine, you can imagine that this car went the literal extra mile.

The question is, though, if the brand new owner of the $3.2million Corvette will take it for a spin or simply let it delight his/her eyes for years to come.

I know what I’d do with it – and you?
