We already know that Lamborghini make some seriously sexy cars. Thus, with the unveiling of their latest baby, the Lamborghini Huracan, the Italian car maker has kept the sexiness firmly in place.

Unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show for the first time yesterday, the Huracan (obviously) stole the spotlight from any other car trying to show off at the show. And when you see what it looks like, it’s not surprising in the least.

Lamborghini aims to push the Huracan into the Gallardo’s market. The Gallardo, which is the company’s top selling model, could very well be replaced by the Huracan in terms of sales.

Design wise, you can definitely see that the makers have drawn some inspiration from the Huracan’s sibling, the ever popular Aventador. It’s super sleek and utterly sexy and is guaranteed to make any car fan weak at the knees.

There are very clear diagonal lines that run through the entire body of the car and hexagonal shapes are present, especially in the front. In essence, the car looks sharp end edgy yet terribly sleek and sophisticated.

The Huracan features V10 engine (naturally) that can reach a top speed of 325km/h. And of course let’s not forget that Lamborghini’s latstest can go from 0-1oo km/h in just over 3 seconds. 3.2 seconds to be precise.

While main parts of the body is made from carbon fibre and aluminum, light weight materials have been used elsewhere in the car.

However, this still doesn’t make the Huracan any lighter really. The Huracan weighs 1422kg – thus making it a substantial 12kg heavier than the Gallardo. But, let’s be honest – what is 12kg now really?

All in all the Huracan is breathtakingly beautiful and there’s no doubt that it would be on many a rich man’s wish list.

Check out the video of the Huracan’s debut below:

First Look: New Audi TT 28

TT

The Audi TT has firmly cemented itself as somewhat of an iconic car. The sleek, modern and clever design that got people talking when it was first released back in 1998, is getting a slight update.

The Mk II TT is Audi’s new TT. And just to give us a little taste before it’s official debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March, Audi has released a few sketches – that right, not photos or videos, but sketches – of the updated TT.

The new TT is said to feature strong horizontal lines, which in turn should make the car seem more dominant.

Another noticeable change is that the Audi logo, the intertwined four rings, will now feature on the bonnet of the car instead of on the grille.

While the TT will feature the standard, two exhaust pipes, the TTS will double that and have four exhaust pipes – of course making it look meaner than it’s less powerful sibling.

As a whole, the new TT looks bigger, badder and more beautiful than before. If these sketches are anything to go by, Audi fans (and petrol heads in general) are in for a treat when we can finally see the real-life version at Geneva. Yet another one we’re going to keep an eye out for at Geneva.

Take a look at the sketches below:

Teaser: Rolls Royce Ghost Series 2 27
Feb

RRG

After 5 long years, Rolls Royce has finally decided to update the very classy, very luxurious and very expensive Ghost; to be revealed at this year’s Geneva Auto Show.

The current Ghost is almost perfect. But who wouldn’t say yes to a few improvements here and there.

While we have been waiting in anticipation for a while now for any news or photos of the updated Ghost, today Rolls Royce finally decided to give their fans a taste of whats to come at Geneva. The first official photo of the ghost has been released, and while it’s not much, it’s enough to get us really excited for its Geneva debut.

The photo reveals a more sleek finish to the front of the car and also new headlights. We have no information on the inner workings f the car yet, but we can speculate that the insides will stay pretty much the same as the original Ghost.

That means a twin turbocharged, 6.6 liter V12 engine that produces a mammoth 563 horsepower.

It’s also very likely (well, guaranteed) that the automaker has updated the Ghost’s infotainment system. Just think of all the technology advances, especially for cars, in the art 5 years. We’re sure this luxury brand won’t skip out on any of that…

Furthermore, there’s not much to say about the Ghost Series 2 – except that we will definitely be keeping an eye out for this one at Geneva. The lonesome picture s featured below:

Batmobile Tumbler

One thing is for sure. Whether you are male or female, a fan of Batman or not, all of us have thought about what it would feel like to drive the Batmobile at some point or another.

Wouldn’t it be great to evade the traffic cops and track down criminals (bad drivers) in your very own Batmobile? Yes it would. And now, you can – as one of Batman’s famous Batmobile replicas has just been put up for sale.

The Tumbler is a version of the Batmobile found in the Dark Knight trilogy. While Christian Bale (aka Batman) got to drive around in one, 5 other replicas were made around the world and at least one of them can be yours.

The Tumbler features a powerful Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine as well as requisite dual rear wheels, which are 44-inch super Swampers. Sure, he first thing you notice when you look at the monstrous car is wheels, but we sure wouldn’t mind that engine!

Furthermore, the Tumbler has GPS, an iPod integrated sound system as well as 5 cameras all around the car to help you out with the difficult blind spots.

The car was posted as for sale on car collector website, James Edition. It’s current owner, a man from Florida, notes that the car is indeed street legal, but is generally ‘not a daily driver’. We can’t imagine why…

The price tag? A cool $1 million. Small change for someone like Bruce Wayne – and a really wealthy car collector.

So, if you have dreams of flying down the street in a Batmobile, then this is your opportunity. Just don’t think your the real Dark Knight.

Check out the video below to refresh your memory – a scene from the Dark Knight featuring the Tumbler:

Ford’s legendary Mustang is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary today. The Mustang was launched in 1964 and is one of those car’s that completely encompasses American culture and of course, the rise of Ford.

Of course, in celebrating 50 years of Mustang, some interesting anecdotes and stories are bound to come out of the woodworks. One such story, is this one; the first Mustang ever sold – to a 22-year old (female) teacher from Illinois.

Gail Wise had just finished college in 1964, and had landed herself a job as a Grade 3 teacher. To get to and from work, Gail had to buy a car and with the help of her parents, set out to their local Ford dealership.

Here Gail’s life was about to change forever. The car salesman showing Gail and her parents around, couldn’t control his excitement about a new Ford model they have in a back room. The Mustang was only supposed to go sale in two days time, on April 17th. However, the enthusiastic salesman showed Gail the Mustang and she fell in love.

358846

Needless to say, she bought the car on the spot, for $3,400 on April 15th 1964.

As the years went on, Gail kept her Mustang. It wasn’t until she met her husband that she wanted to sell it. However, her husband decided to keep the car and it subsequently stood in their garage for 27 years!

358854

When the couple retired, they decided to have the beloved Mustang re-done. Everything from the inside to the outside was restored to mint condition.

358838

The story is very touching and inspiring and a perfect way to describe the profoundness that is the Ford Mustang.

New Renault concept car features a drone on its roof 10

Renault-Kwid_Concept_W

Renault’s new concept car is so modern and futuristic, you would swear that it came straight out of a sic-fi film. However, that’s not the case – this car is the result of months of imagining, re-imagining and design by Renault designers worldwide.

The Renault Kwid is the company’s new concept. It was first introduced at the 2014 New Dehli Auto Expo in India. The car itself is also inspired by India, and designed to fit into the small roads across India.

The car itself is a small SUV, with super modern designs on both the exterior and interior. Renault says they plan on putting a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine inside the Kwid – so it won’t be too slow either.

But, the best part about the new Kwid is not its exceptional modern design or compact body, but it’s ‘attachment’. On the roof of the car, is a flying, quadcopter drone that literally launches from the roof. Sound crazy? Well, it’s not – it’s incredible.

Renault calls this drone the Kwid’s ‘flying companion’. The idea is that the drone, which can be controlled manually from a tablet on the car’s dashboard or fly autonomously, can fly ahead of where the car is traveling and check for traffic jams or other road related problems.

The drone is also able to then relay a live video back to the car, so you can see what is going on meters in front of you.

The inside, which really looks the inside of a stereotypical ‘space car’, is probably one of the most modern layouts we’ve ever seen. Firstly, the steering wheel isn’t positioned on either the left or the right side of the car, but rather slap bang in the middle. It then features a tablet on the left-hand side.

In a video Renault released about the concept, they explain that this is the most ‘international’ car hey have ever designed; with designers from different countries contributing to the final product.

You can check out the video below along with another video which details the drone:

Mercedes AMG – turning burnouts into art 4

One would never really think of associating auto motives, and especially what they can do, with high-fashion or sought after art. Sure, there will be the occasional collaboration between Versace and Lamborghini or Nissan and Zac Posen – but never has there been a car to (literally) leave it’s mark on fashion.

Well, that is exactly what Mercedes AMG is doing. In a rather unusual fashion statement, Mercedes AMG is using burnout marks to sell handbags, t-shirts, briefcases and other items.

While the concept is quite strange, there is some merit in the project. Mercedes argues that no burnout mark looks the same (obviously), so why not create burnout marks, print them onto fabric and then use said fabric to create garments and bags.

The project is naturally more geared towards automotive lovers – now they can carry a high-fashion bag with a burnout mark etched across it. The ultimate accessory for any die-hard motor fan, and more so, Mercedes AMG fan.

In a video illustrating the new fashion trend, Mercedes uses a CLS63 to create burnout marks, which is then in turn printed onto these fashionable items.

352060

It is, how do we say, more of an avant-garde fashion piece, but still, it does look rather interesting and actually not that tacky – considering the fact that its a burnout print printed on an expensive handbag.

The Mercedes AMG Burnout Collection will go on sale at the AMG showroom and selected AMG Driving Academy events.

Check out the video below. Would you want a Mercedes AMG Burnout Bag?

new V-class

Ahead of it’s official debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March, Mercedes has given us a little gift in the form a video revealing the all new V-Class.

The V-Class is a full size MPV that is naturally aimed at families, shuttle drivers or tour guides and soccer moms – the perfect way to drive around 8 kids.

Mercedes’ new baby offers you all the function of a MPV, alongside some serious luxury and smart, innovative technology. Some of it’s key features include a system that helps to keep the car straight while driving ins throng crosswinds, a touchpad control system for infotainment purposes, a (very handy) 360-degree camera and additional parking aids, and, believe it or not, a system that will detect if the driver is nodding off on those long road trips. Very, very clever.

At the time of launch, the V-class will only be available with one engine; a 2.1 liter turbo diesel beast. However, different outputs will be made available in the form of 136 horsepower, 163 and 190.

Mercedes is also planning a more rugged version, which will most likely be an updated version of the popular Vito.

So, without further a due, check out the video below featuring the all new, all amazon, Mercedes V-Class:

Finally – a real flying car! 23

Throughout our childhoods we’ve been exposed to flying cars. Sure, they weren’t real but rather a part of some of favorite television shows (think The Jetsons, Wacky Races…). Well, now finally, after what seems like forever, someone has successfully managed to build a flying car that really works and looks really good.

Stefan Klein of Slovakia has spent the past 20 years of his life, designing, developing and finally constructing a flying car. It is called the AeroMobil and can drive on the road as a normal car and transfigure into a flying car – with wings and all.

The car itself has a steel framework and is powered by a Rotax 912 engine.

When in its ‘car configuration’, the AeroMobil is 6 meters long and 1.6 meters wide. Add on the wings, and the car is 8,2 meters in width and still 6 meters in length when in ‘plane mode’. When it is in its automobile configuration, the car scan easily fit into any standard parking spot.

Considering its size, it is actually quite impressive that the AeroMobil can reach a to[ speed of 200km/h in flight. It is also able to fly for around 700 kilometers before having to come down to re-fuel.

On the road, it can reach a top speed of 160km/h and will be able to travel for approximately 500 kilometers before needing to fill up.

The AeroMobil took its maiden flight in September last year, however, the incredible video of the first flight was only uploaded on to YouTube yesterday. This explains why there hasn’t been widespread media coverage of the AeroMobil.

We know you are probably frothing to see the video of the incredible AeroMobil. It is something quite spectacular, and makes us very excited for the future of automobiles. Perhaps we can all soon be like The Jetsons – now wouldn’t that be cool?

2015 Ford Mustang will rock the silver screen in Need for Speed film 15

NFS_2015Mustang

So, as we have discussed before, we – just like many other car enthusiasts world wide – are really, really excited for the Need for Speed movie to be released.

And now, just to make the anticipation even greater, the film’s producers has released a little teaser trailer of one of the biggest cameo’s  in the movie. And just who is the beauty that will be making a cameo in the film? The all new, 2015 Ford Mustang! Yes we are telling the truth!

Aaron Paul, who plays the lead in the film, will be driving the all new, all amazing 2015 Ford Mustang in the film. He can definitely count himself as one lucky guy!

But the collaboration between the Need for Speed franchise, and Mustang goes a little bit deeper.

While the Mustang is seen as a beast of a car, a vehicle for speed freaks and an all round, all American staple, its no wonder the two have decided to blend together so gloriously.

Another big thing, is that it is the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang – and what better way to celebrate than by showcasing the latest Mustang to its full potential in a film!?

In the clip, one of the producers explain their reason for bringing in the magnificent Mustang:

“Everybody that buys a Mustang or owns a Mustang has a need for speed”

Truth, I tell you!

Need for Speed is slated for release on March 14th. So, that is almost exactly 2 months to go. Believe you me, we’re counting down the days.

For now, however, check out the tantalizing teaser trailer below:

Audi S4 Quatrro tackles the Polar Vortex 13

As you may of heard, North America’s mid-west is basically Antartica right now. Temperatures are way below zero and the snow just keeps on coming.

Of course, with the immense amount of snowfall, and with the roads being covered and looking like some kind of icy white paradise, it must be real hard (if not impossible) to drive around.

Some places have reported more than 12 inches (that’s 30 centimeters!) of snowfall. This basically means you can’t moving anything that is engulfed in the snow. But one man, and obvious car fan, did the impossible; he took his Audi S4 Quatrro out for a day in the snow. And obviously its a challenge with the Quatrro being low on the ground.

The video the man posted is quite funny and actually makes it look like driving an Audi in the snow can be fun.

This is one sure fire way to not get depressed by the gloomy weather – but to make the most of it instead. People are so clever.

Miami’s annual Art Basel event was held last week, and, instead of only featuring some of the most up-and-coming modern artists and their groundbreaking work – its also showcased the work of Alexander Mijares, and the pinnacle of his collection sure got our attention.

Proclaimed as ‘the highlight of his collection’, Mijares showcased this beautiful, unique and (very) striking hand-painted Lamborghini Gallardo.

Looking like something you’d see in a museum or a high-budget car movie, this Gallardo is a most beautiful electric blue, with intricate, hand painted grapics from it’s front to the rear.

It took Mijares quite some time to carefully cover the whole car, but the results are well worth the effort (and probable back pain).

Obviously, Mijares didn’t paint straight onto the car with his paint, I mean, you have to take into consideration that it is a Lamborghini…

335225

The car was first wrapped by Superior Auto design in Miami, before Mijares got his ver talented hands on it.

The hand-painting made this already unique car even more special, and we would jump at the opportunity to have it for ourselves.

Check out the video below on the whole painting process – it really is quite impressive!

Expensive toy: Ferrari 180 Testa Rossa toy-car up for auction 13

Tiny Ferrari

Have you ever wondered what one of the most expensive toys in the world would look like? Would it be a 3D video gaming device? A super fancy computer? Or a prize-winning pony? No. It’s a tiny Ferrari 180 Testa Rossa toy car.

This Testa Rossa was made in Italy (obviously) and will be the headlining feature at the Art of the Automobile auction in New York.

The starting bid on this toy car? Just a cool $1 million!

The ‘car’ is being distributed through US-based Luigi Chinetti Motors. This is the only licensed American Ferrari dealership active at the time the car was built. Chinetti himself is also a long-time friend, business partner and even racing teammate of mr. Enzo Ferrari.

However, the tiny toy car is not just a really, really expensive ornament. The car has 0.3 horsepower and a tiny, 12-volt motor. So, at least some spoiled child will get a little bit of ride out of it.

Gallery – The most expensive toy car in the world:

Auction president, Alain Squindo, says the appeal of the tiny car will be to those (rich) people who collect sportscars:

“This car is the pinnacle of what you would’ve given to that very lucky boy or girl. It’s something that nowadays would round out an eclectic collection. It would appeal to someone who actively collects sports cars” he said.

We’re sure one lucky kid will definitely have the sweetest ride on the block.

The Most Equipped Taxi in New York 12

NY Cab

We all know that New York is famous for being a city that never sleeps, Wall Street and, of course, it’s famously below taxi’s.

With so many taxis in bustling city, what can you, as a cab driver, do to make sure you pick up more people than the other, equally yellow taxi’s? You pimp your ride, of course! And that’s exactly what this one cab driver did – and by pimp, we mean PIMPED!

Car Force One – that’s the name of the all new, decked-out cab in New York. A clever play on Barack Obama’s ride, Air Force One, this cab promises to bring you everything and then some.

CEO (read: owner) of Car Force One, Ishai, says his ‘company’s’ vision is simple: customer satisfaction.

“My company is not about the car, it’s about the service. It’s for the clients” he said.

Ishai has been a cab driver since 2009. He is also solely responsible for the modifications and improvements to his cab – he’s done them all himself.

But don’t think Ishai is going to stop there – he is also heading to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to get more pieces and additions for his cab.
