This BMW 2002 Project Car Is Powered By An M5 V8 23

When BMW first launched their 2002 model in the late 60s, it’s unlikely they ever imagined somebody would fit a 400 horsepower V8 underneath its bonnet.

Then again, the title of this video is “Dream Build”, where the dream was to get this 2002 Bimmer to accept the S62 V8 engine from a 2001 E39 M5.

Now that the build is ready, the owner of the car thought fit to talks us through everything that went into this project and how this car differs from your regular 2002 model, even though you might not know it just by looking at it.

For starters, a lot of mechanical changes were made in order to help this car handle all the extra muscle. So despite it looking mostly stock, some major underbody reinforcement took place, while a Nissan 240SX “donated” its front and rear suspension to help the cause. Other mods include brand new fenders, new doors, a new quarter panel, rear tail section, basically a lot of changes that thankfully didn’t do much to alter the car’s appearance.

Inside, you’ll find Recaro seats, a momo steering wheel, custom gauge cluster and some nice white contrast stitching all over the black leather.

Earlier this year, we saw Jay Leno drive a 1976 BMW 2002 with an S14 M power unit, from a 1989 BMW M3. It’s safe to say this one here is way quicker.

McLaren 720S Is Finally Beaten In A Drag Race, But By What? 23

It’s obvious by now that not even an all-wheel drive Italian exotic, whether it be stock, supercharged or even twin-turbocharged, can slay the mighty McLaren 720S, which is definitely a lot more powerful than it lets on.

During a recent dyno test earlier this month, a stock 720S managed to put down 691 WHP, which could translate into roughly 770 to 800 HP at the crank, maybe even a bit more.

So to see it demolish anything it comes across shouldn’t really be all that surprising. Let’s include 1/4 mile times in this statement, since the 720S managed to cover the distance in just 9.7 seconds.

If you haven’t watched the video yet, you’re probably wondering what on Earth could have beaten the 720S in a straight line, especially the way it happened – catching up to it and passing it at high speed.

Well, let’s just say it’s a very similar type of car, mostly stock, though rocking Fabspeed high flow cats and custom exhaust system.

Aria Unveiling Mysterious Sports Car On November 30 23

Aria Group, the company behind an incredibly-sexy mid-engine Corvette concept, has just teased its latest car project.

Dubbed the Aria FXE, the vehicle will premiere on November 30th at the LA Auto Show and while no details about the concept are known, this teaser previews what seems to be a very promising design.

Key design standouts are a set of slim LED taillights, a brake light at the base of the glass engine cover, and a light blue or silver paint finish. Bold wheel arches and aggressive wing mirrors are also visible.

Now, there are some design similarities to their previous concept from earlier this year, which had Corvette-like features and a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 drivetrain, putting down 650 HP and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque. However, since we might be looking at something entirely different, it’s almost impossible to anticipate what it could do performance-wise.

Stay tuned for more about the Aria FXE in the coming week.

Hear The Kia Stinger GT Growl With A Borla Exhaust 22

If you believe the reviews, the 2018 Kia Stinger is everything we ever hoped for, offering drivers superb thrills and luxury to rival the German alternatives.

Sitting at the heart of the range-topping Stinger is a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine delivering 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, this engine, nor the exhaust system, produce an intoxicating soundtrack.

Thankfully, aftermarket firms have already started to resolve this, developing new exhausts for the South Korean sports sedan. As the video below demonstrates, the exhaust developed by Borla totally transforms the Kia.

The first 90-seconds of the video highlight the standard exhaust of the Stinger while the final 30-seconds show a bright orange Stinger with the Borla system. Not only does the aftermarket exhaust sound much better at idle, it also roars at full throttle, perfectly complementing the car’s performance and eye-catching looks.

Imagine Getting Rear-Ended By The NSFW Dickmobile! 22
Nov

Batman has the Batmobile to play around with, but what would a guy named Richard drive? Yes, you’re right, that would be a Dickmobile!

Now, leaving all puns aside, this contraption is as real as they come, and judging by the images posted on HowNotToDesignACar, a lot of work has been literally put into making it look like a…well, very special car indeed.

Regardless if you’re looking at it from the front, side, or rear, it leaves very little to the imagination. It even comes with an open-top cabin that has room for two, and it also gets a black fabric soft top for when the weather turns nasty.

And if you’re curious as to why would someone build or drive around in something like this, know that it’s an ‘art car’ that was made in 1969 and retired 5 years later, but not before being driven for 500 miles (805km) on the streets of Los Angeles by its maker, Steve Paige.

Still, hopefully the weird machine doesn’t have any hidden features for bumpy roads, and it’s also probably the last thing you would want to get rear-ended by.

Hennessey Reveals Carbon Fiber Interior Of Venom F5 21
Nov
Posted by Brad Anderson in Hennessey, Hennessey Venom F5, Reports, tuning on 11 21st, 2017

Shortly after Hennessey premiered the Venom F5 at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Texas tuner has released the first images of the hypercar’s interior.

Like a recent teaser image indicated, the cabin of the Venom F5 is dominated by carbon fiber and looks to be a serious improvement over the Venom GT in terms of overall quality.

Unsurprisingly, the cabin is quite narrow and consists of two bucket seats which appear to be fixed to the floor. Elsewhere, the Venom F5 includes a narrow, carbon fiber transmission tunnel that runs up to a large touchscreen housing the car’s infotainment features. Elsewhere, we can see a trio of air vents arranged in a similar format to the tailpipes.

Two different steering wheel and gauge clusters will be offered to customers. The first sees the fitment of a carbon wheel with a flat bottom and top. It is then joined by a digital gauge cluster. Alternatively, Hennessey will also offer a steering wheel that houses its very own cluster, somewhat similar to the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

As cool as the interior of the Venom F5 is, it is far from the vehicle’s standout feature. Instead, it is the twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 1,600 hp that promises to make the Venom F5 unlike any car before it, potentially capable of accelerating to over 300 mph (482 km/h).

Startech Dips This Bentley Continental GT In Custom Paint, Adds Carbon 20

If you’re looking to buy an elegant and imposing luxury GT, a Bentley Continental GT might very well be on your shopping list.

Throughout its existence, the Continental GT has been upgraded by many tuners, some of which have become quite adept at taking an already imposing car and making it even more appealing.

Take this Startech-tuned example for instance. Not only does it come with a custom paint finish, but also carbon fiber aerodynamic elements and massive Monostar G 22″ wheels painted in the same color as the exterior.

Hidden behind the wheels are orange calipers, which match the accents found inside the fine leather interior on the dashboard, steering wheel, sun visors, door panels, seats and even the roof.

But that’s not all. The entire trunk is orange – even the lining of the trunk lid. Speaking of which, you can also see that this car is equipped with the Naim for Bentley sound system, thought by many to be one of the best in the world.

World’s Crappiest Tune Uses A Chevy Grille As A Rear Wing 20
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Offbeat News, opel, Opel Vectra, tuning, vauxhall on 11 20th, 2017

Trying to win the title of “world’s crappiest body kit” is this second-generation Opel/Vauxhall Vectra, equipped with what looks like a freaking radiator as a diffuser of sorts on its rear bumper

Unless this car is actually a rival for the 5,000 HP Devel Sixteen, we’re going to go out on a limb and say that everything that’s been fitted to it is complete and utter nonsense.

It’s no wonder this image popped up on Reddit’s famous crappy car mods thread, except they don’t actually say “crappy”. Oh well, let’s lean into it a bit and see what’s going on.

Starting with that massive rear spoiler, it almost looks like a cargo space ship from any random 1980’s sci fi movie. Are those supposed to be exhaust tips or afterburners. You don’t know!

Next, the inserts around the trunk lid and badge look like cheap pearls, whereas the rear wing (if you want to call it that), is actually an old Chevrolet grille, which makes us wonder if this car murdered a Chevy just so it could wear its mask, kind of like an automotive equivalent of Hannibal Lecter.

As for the rest of the mods, all we can say is that they look ridiculous and unnecessary. We have a feeling you’ll agree.

Custom Dually Chevy Camaro Wants Not For Traction, Subtlety 20

Posted by Carscoops Staff in Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Videos, Middle East, tuning, video on 11 20th, 2017

Chevy makes all kinds of vehicles – among them, at opposite ends of the spectrum, work-a-day pickup trucks like the Silverado and performance models like the Camaro. Seldom do the two meet, but that’s just what we appear to have here.

Shared with the world via Reddit and UAE Muscle is what appears to be a custom Camaro with the dual rear axle from a Silverado HD, spotted in the United Arab Emirates.

The wheels are enclosed in custom bodywork, but those don’t appear to be the only modifications. The whole thing is apparently dropped to the ground, fitted with Lambo-style scissor doors, some weird Giger-esque engine cover, a two-tone brown and white paintjob, an interior bathed in LEDs, and more tribal tattoos than a Pamela Anderson centerfold.

Subtle it is not, and we doubt the mods give it much of a performance edge. And those standard side mirrors aren’t going to show much beyond the rear haunches. But however much power it is packing, it doesn’t look like it’ll have much trouble getting it down to the tarmac.

Watch The 900 HP Brabus Rocket Launch And Nudge 350 Km/h! 19
Nov
Posted by Brad Anderson in brabus, mercedes, Mercedes S-Class, Mercedes Videos, tuning, video on 11 19th, 2017

Once upon a time, it was unheard of for a production car to do over 200 mph. Fortunately, we live in rapidly changing times and the 200-mph barrier is almost considered a benchmark which supercars and high-end sports cars must reach.

However, what is arguably more impressive than a two-door coupe reaching such speeds is a heavy luxury sedan doing the same, just like the latest Brabus Rocket 900.

As the name of the car implies, there is 900 HP on tap from the extensively modified twin-turbo 6.3-liter V12 engine and during a recent high-speed run, the super sedan reached an incredible 347 km/h (215 mph) and looked like it had even more speed in its back pocket.

850HP Volkswagen Golf R Mk6 Is Pure Madness On Wheels 19

The hot hatch kings, namely the Audi RS3 Sportback and Mercedes-AMG A45, pale next to this heavily tuned sixth-generation Volkswagen Golf R.

To explain just how powerful it is, one would need to throw in a modern day supercar to challenge it, and even then, there’s a good chance that the German hot hatch would come out on top.

Filmed during a Race1000 event in Germany, which has brought forward several magnificent machines over these past few months, this Golf R is said to pack as much as 850 horsepower. Its stock 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was reportedly swapped with a 3.6-liter bi-turbo unit, and it appears that it’s also fitted with additional upgrades, including a tuned suspension and improved brakes.

Its owner added a roll cage and a pair of bucket seats inside, but except for these, the rest of the car appears to be untouched.

The tuned Golf R was raced against the clock during the event, and it eventually ran down the half mile in 17 seconds, at a top speed of 255km/h (155mph).

Lexus LC500 Looks Even More Futuristic On 24-Inch Forgiato Alloys 19
Nov
Posted by Carscoops Staff in Forgiato, LEXUS, Lexus LC, tuning on 11 19th, 2017

The Lexus LC500 represents the very cutting edge of the Japanese automaker’s design ethos, looking like something out of the future. But the wheels may not be to everyone’s liking.

Enter the folks at Forgiato, who outfitted one such pearl-white coupe with a new set of their Tecnica Tec 3.3 alloys.

They’re massive 24-inch units, with brushed spokes and polished rims, and they’ve been shod with low-profile Pirelli P Zero Nero all-season rubber.

The turbine-style wheels cut a rather different profile than the stock units and give the sleek Lexus an altogether different look. The storm-trooper look of the white bodywork and all that black glass doesn’t do anything to burst that futuristic bubble, either.

The owner has apparently removed the model-designation nameplate off the back, but we’re told this is a conventionally powered LC500, with the old-school 5.0-liter V8 rated at 471 horsepower. And we dig it. But for a more forward-looking propulsion unit that’s perhaps better matched to the futuristic design, Lexus also offers the LC500h with a 3.5-liter hybrid V6.
