New TVR Griffith Looks The Business With Chameleon Paint 11
Posted by Brad Anderson in new cars, Reports, TVR, TVR Griffith on 01 11th, 2018

New images of the intriguing TVR Griffith have surfaced online, showing the sports car with an eye-catching chameleon paint scheme.

Before the firm’s untimely demise and subsequent resurrection, one of the defining aspects of the brand was its willingness to paint vehicles in all manner of shades of colors. Among the brand’s most recognizable was its host of flip paints which change color depending on the angle at which they’re viewed.

The paint of this new Griffith looks like a mixture of pink and purple when viewed from the side while the front bumper has hints of green and blue. Look at the sports car from behind and you’ll see a combination of pink, purple, green, blue, and even gold, particularly on the rear wheel arches. The look is a far cry from the simple shade of red that adorned the initial show car.

Joining the TVR’s eye-catching looks are some seriously impressive performance figures. TVR claims the Ford-sourced 5.0-liter V8 tuned by Cosworth delivers roughly 500 hp, propelling the 1250 kg (2755 lbs) car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than four seconds and through to a top speed exceeding 200 mph (321 km/h).

Prices for the TVR Griffith Launch Edition start at under £90,000 and the first customers are expected to take delivery in the first quarter of 2019.

Watch A New TVR Griffith Come Together Before Your Very Eyes 2

The vast majority of cars these days are put together on moving assembly lines, a practice established long ago by Henry Ford. But not all of them; some of the most exotic performance machines are put together one at a time, by a handful of craftsmen

One of those few is the new TVR Griffith. The reborn British sports car is designed by Gordon Murray, with a Cosworth-tuned 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 at its heart, capable of producing 500 horsepower to send the Griffith to 60 mph in four seconds flat and on to a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h).

The car is set to be built using Murray’s patented iStream method, streamlining production and lightening the vehicle’s construction based on lessons learned from Murray’s extensive experience in Formula One.

Anyway, irrespective of the manner it’s being built, we’re glad to see the TVR name return to the scene. And you can watch this one coming together in a three-minute timelapse video from the good folks at Goodwood Road & Racing.

TVR Continues To Test The Griffith Ahead Of Its Launch In 2019 20
Posted by Michael Gauthier in Film, TVR, TVR Griffith, TVR Videos, video on 12 20th, 2017

Work continues on the TVR Griffith as the company has released a short video of the model undergoing testing.

Filmed in the United Kingdom, the clip shows the car racing by the camera and a handful of onlookers. While there isn’t much to see, the Griffith is truly a sight to behold as it has a long sloping hood, a rakish windscreen, and a double bubble roof. Other notable styling features include a side exiting exhaust, a massive rear diffuser, and lightweight wheels which are backed up by a high-performance braking system.

Power is provided by a Ford-sourced 5.0-liter V8 engine that has been tuned by Cosworth. It produces approximately 500 hp (372 kW) and should enable the Griffith to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than four seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 200 mph (321 km/h).

This impressive performance is possible thanks lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. They enable the Griffith to weigh 1250 kg (2755 lbs) and have a power-to-weight ratio of 400 hp per tonne.

Deliveries are slated to begin in 2019 and the first 500 models will special editions that cost less than £90,000 ($120,375).
