Jeremy Clarkson Holds Nothing Back While Reviewing Other People’s Rides 11

Posted by Sergiu Tudose in celebrities, Funny, Offbeat News, The Grand Tour, video on 12 11th, 2017

No matter what you think about Jeremy Clarkson, The Grand Tour host definitely has “one or two” opinions about cars and is never afraid to express them out loud.

In this video courtesy of LADbible, Clarkson takes a look at a bunch of photographs of real people with real cars, which means real feelings are at stake.

Aside from not being a fan of side skirts on old Mercedes C-Class saloons, he also finds plenty to say about a certain license plate number, a weird Fiat, and even the clothes that car owners choose to wear.

Unless of course your name is Katie Price (yes, the celebrity formerly known as Jordan), then you pretty much get a pass – as does your pink Urban-tuned Range Rover, apparently.

As for cars he did like, there’s a classic Mustang worth mentioning, which we’d all be hard pressed to ignore, plus a Mercedes SLR, which Clarkson doesn’t actually touch on, mostly because of how the picture was taken. You’ll understand once you see it.

The Grand Tour Season 2 Montage Is Better Than Any Trailer Yet 11

If you’re really looking forward to this latest season of The Grand Tour and the trailer hasn’t provided you with enough eye candy, this montage will go above and beyond in doing that.

There have been plenty of laughs as well as some very spectacular footage even before The Grand Tour’s second season kicked off last Friday. Yet, those of you who saw the first episode, also caught this latest action-packed montage, which actually has us really looking forward to what should come next.

Spoiler alert: it looks like the lads are having more fun while driving faster and more spectacular cars than they have during the first season.

They will also be attempting plenty of stunts and we’ll even get some of their famous races, where they try to beat some type of challenger (motorized or otherwise) from reaching a specific destination before they do.

Episode 2 is scheduled to air this Friday, December 15 on Amazon Video, and will feature the Mercedes-AMG GT R as well as the all-new Ford GT.

Watch Richard Hammond Smoke Aventador And NSX With The Rimac 11

If you haven’t had a chance to watch the first episode of The Grand Tour’s second season, stop what you’re doing and check it out immediately.

If you have seen it, the video below showcases one of the most memorable segments from the trio’s Swiss road trip in the Rimac Concept_One, Lamborghini Aventador S, and Honda NSX, showing just how quick the Croatian electric hypercar is.

Filmed before Richard Hammond’s unfortunate crash onboard the Rimac, the drag race took place at an airfield in Switzerland and marks a return to form for the three ex-Top Gear hosts.

To be fair to the Aventador and NSX, the Rimac is in a totally-different performance class, so it’s no surprise that it wiped the floor with the two supercars. In fact, the Concept_One used in the film delivers 1,224 hp thanks to four electric motors and a 90 kWh battery pack. This allows it to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph (354 km/h).

The Grand Tour’s Opening Episode To Feature Hammond’s Rimac Crash 7

Details of the first episode of The Grand Tour’s second season have been announced and it’s the one we’ve all been waiting to see.

Dubbed Past, Present or Future, the episode will see Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May driving the Lamborghini Aventador S, Rimac Concept_One, and Lamborghini Aventador S through the stunning roads of Switzerland.

As we all know, Richard Hammond was badly injured during the filming of this episode after crashing the Concept_One at a hillclimb event. The episode will include footage of the incident but it could be limited as the onboard cameras were destroyed in the crash and ensuing fire.

The episode will also debut the new Celebrity Face Off segment. It will see former The Voice UK judge Ricky Wilson going up against David Hasselhoff.

The episode will drop on November 8 on Amazon Prime.

The Grand Tour Opens Up A Cafe As Their Latest PR Stunt 6

If there’s one thing you can count on when it comes to Amazon’s The Grand Tour, it’s taking something seemingly ordinary and adding a fun or quirky twist to it.

Their latest attempt to cause a stir online features a rather special Cafe they opened up in the West Village, NYC, one that has actual motorized furniture.

We’re talking motorized arm chairs and even coffee tables, plus enough space in that industrial building for everybody to partake, although once the real customers get asked to participate, the action becomes very bumper car-ish.

To be fair, that’s usually what tends to happen to Clarkson, May and Hammond as well, especially during those segments where they travel to some far away place in really cheap cars.

The second season of the Grand Tour launches this Friday, December 8, on Prime Video.

Clarkson Says He Has No Issue With Electric Vehicles 6

There was a time when Jeremy Clarkson, like so many other old-school car enthusiasts, absolutely despised electric cars.

However, in the near decade since the former Top Gear host’s infamous review of the Tesla Roadster, electric cars have come a long way. So, have Clarkson’s views changed as well?

Mashable recently sat down with the controversial journalist prior to the launch of The Grand Tour’s second season and much to our surprise, Clarkson no longer appears to be vehemently opposed to electric cars, perhaps sensing the inevitable EV revolution.

Quizzed about his thoughts of the 2020 Tesla Roadster, Clarkson said, “I think the world could become kinder, better place, perhaps because of electrical cars. I certainly have no problem with electricity as a means of propulsion.” Yes, those exact words left Clarkson’s mouth.

It remains to be seen what has swayed Clarkson’s views, but we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that the Rimac Concept_One, set to star in the new season of The Grand Tour, may have convinced him.

Latest Grand Tour Promo Features An Extremely Lucky James May 1

Make that almost lucky, because all the planned mayhem in this video does catch up to him in the end, in a very Looney Tunes type of way.

The Grand Tour continues its tour of teasers on the internet ahead of the show’s season 2 premiere on December 8th, and this time, they went out of their way to show just how resilient (and lucky) James May, aka Captain Slow is.

Not only does he look impervious to tiles and even anvils falling off a building, he also lucks out by not accidentally drinking paint stripper and by not getting smashed into by a train while driving a Fiat Panda.

Speaking of which, we’re not sure if the producers of the show got another car specifically for this commercial, or if that’s actually James’ car. What we do know is that back in 2014, May wrote a column saying that his Panda was on its way out, soon to be replaced by a BMW i3.

Either way, the car is featured heavily in this video, and you might even feel sorry for it at the end. As for the only non-ailing Grand Tour presenter, maybe he should think about starring in a Die Hard reboot.

The Grand Tour’s Season 2 Celebrity Face Off Gets Guests Who Don’t Die, Including The Hoff 30
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Amazon, celebrities, Reports, The Grand Tour on 11 30th, 2017

After having multiple celebrities meet with “unfortunate accidents” all throughout season one, The Grand Tour will now feature weekly celebrity guests pitted against each other.

The segment will be called “Celebrity Face Off”, and each week we’re going to see two big-name stars trying to set fast laps on the show’s brand new track.

Among these celebs will be the likes of Luke Evans, Kiefer Sutherland, Hugh Bonneville, Kevin Pietersen, Dominic Cooper, Dynamo, Rory Mcllroy, Michael Ball, Alfie Boe and more.

From this lot, Cooper definitely stands out to us as the star of AMC’s Preacher, but more importantly, because of his role in the Need for Speed movie from 2014, where he played villain Dino Brewster. So we’re curious to see what he’s learned on the set of NFS, especially since the actors involved had to learn some basic stunt car moves.

As for the very first episode of The Grand Tour’s second season, which airs on December 8th on Amazon Prime, we’ll see none other than David Hasselhoff from America’s Got Talent, take on The Voice UK’s Ricky Wilson.

“I’m basically an actor, I’m not really a good driver but I just look good doing it,” said the Hoff, with Wilson adding that even though he’s “fiercely competitive” and unaware of the lap results, “it’s ok if Hasselhoff beats me because he’s my hero! I really enjoyed it and I hope it looks as good on TV as it felt being in the car.”

Land Rover Thinks Chris Harris Works On The Grand Tour 30

Thanks to the BBC’s decision to end its relationship with Jeremy Clarkson back in 2015, the world now has two great automotive TV shows to enjoy – The Grand Tour and Top Gear.

However, it doesn’t appear as though Land Rover got the message, as evidenced by packages it recently sent to the hosts of The Grand Tour.

Instead of addressing the packages to Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, one was addressed to Chris Harris, one of the lead presenters of the revamped series of Top Gear.

Jeremy Clarkson took to Instagram to share the embarrassing gaff with his 765,000 followers, almost certainly leaving someone at the Jaguar Land Rover office rather red faced.

However, this does have us thinking. What if The Grand Tour somehow poached Chris Harris from the BBC and will use him as a co-host, potentially as the new driver?

Such a scenario is extremely unlikely but if it were to happen, you wouldn’t hear us complain.

The Grand Tour Tries To Become More American In Latest Spot 28
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Amazon, celebrities, Funny, The Grand Tour, video on 11 28th, 2017

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are still trying to make us laugh ahead of next week’s The Grand Tour’s season 2 premiere.

While this video doesn’t actually feature any cars, the three hosts are definitely up to their old tricks, applying typical British humor to a situation where somebody suggested they should “become more American.”

Safe to say, they took this suggestion to heart, at least Clarkson and May did, and hit the dressing room for their American makeover. As you can see, things kind of escalated.

Both Clarkson and May ended up looking like very tanned game show hosts, while Hammond, well, apparently he looked plenty American to begin with – must have been those pearly whites.

At the end, the lads reassure the public that they’re “still British”, and judging by the official season 2 trailer, so is the show. In other words, there will be plenty of laughs to be had, not to mention sarcastic conversations and silly accidents.

James May Suggests A Car Thief For The Grand Tour’s New Driver 27
Nov
Posted by Brad Anderson in BMW M4, BMW Videos, Reports, The Grand Tour, video on 11 27th, 2017

The Grand Tour continues the hunt for a new driver and this time, it was James May’s chance to shake things up.

Whereas Jeremy Clarkson took things seriously by recruiting the help of ex-Formula One driver Mark Webber, Richard Hammond instead opted for a stunt driver. Unsurprisingly, that didn’t work out. May’s attempt however isn’t much better.

The man in question is an unnamed car thief, who May thinks has the skills to hustle a BMW M4 CS around the ‘Eboladrome’. Fittingly, things backfire as the over-enthusiastic driver decides to make a break for it, stealing the hardcore M4.

All of the ‘driver auditions’ for The Grand Tour have been very tongue-in-cheek and it actually remains unclear if the new season will even feature a replacement to ‘The American’.

Thankfully, we’ll find out soon as the new season will start on December 8.

The Grand Tour Is Still Auditioning Drivers While Renaults Suffer 23
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Amazon, celebrities, The Grand Tour, video on 11 23rd, 2017

Yesterday, it was a red Clio RS flying into a building like something out of The Dukes of Hazzard, while today, it’s a Megane Coupe that doesn’t get to go home in one piece.

In this second season of The Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are looking for a new race driver/stuntman who can handle driving all sorts of cars, really, really fast.

The first audition they held, for the sake of comedy obviously, was published yesterday and, well, in case you haven’t seen it, here’s how it went down. Good thing all that car violence was in the script, otherwise it’s hard to imagine giving that driver a second chance.

Alas, here we go again, same driver, different Renault, same enthusiastic Hammond, who claims the man simply “got carried away last time.”

Let’s just say that the outcome of this second attempt at racing around the track was immediately obvious once the car set off. But at least the guy is good at plain old stunts, so maybe we’ll see more of him once the show kicks off, December 8th on Amazon Prime Video.

Grand Tour Auditions A Stunt Driver But Old Habits Die Hard 22
Nov
Posted by Michael Karkafiris in Amazon, The Grand Tour, video on 11 22nd, 2017

The Grand Tour continues building up the hype with a series of short videos, trying to find out a suitable replacement for the American.

After Mark Webber failed spectacularly to remain objective towards any car that’s not a Porsche, Richard Hammond thought that he had the perfect solution, bringing in an unknown stunt driver to audition.

Hammond argues that the qualities of a stunt driver are perfect for their show as they’ve been known to be fast, precise and fearless. And while Clarkson shows little to no interest of continuing the auditions after his favorite Webber failed to take the role, there’s a point to be proven.

Driving a previous-gen bright red Renault Clio RS, the unknown stunt driver begun his demonstration and proving that he has the necessary speed, at least at the first couple of corners.

The second season of The Grand Tour airs on Amazon Prime Video on December 8th.
