Giving A Foot Massage Is One Way To Promote The New Audi A8 24
Dec
Posted by Cristian Gnaticov in audi, Audi A8, Audi Videos, new cars, video on 12 24th, 2017

Design features, high-tech equipment, and its marketed Level 3 autonomous driving system have all been left aside by Audi in their latest A8 commercial, which focuses on something a bit more enjoyable.

But what could be better than having your flagship saloon drive you around in autonomous mode as you enjoy the scenery behind the wheel? Why, of course, the A8’s  foot rubbing function if you hop back at the rear and which can be combined with other types of massage, including for your back, with three levels of intensity to choose from.

To put this feature to the ultimate test, Audi offered six random people the opportunity to get inside the new generation A8 and enjoy 10 minutes of massage, at the Munich airport, in Germany, comparing its rear seat to “a wellness area”.

“Whether ‘wave’, ‘stretch’, ‘relaxation’ or ‘vitalization’ – in every mode, the seat massages for ten minutes”, says Audi. “The comfort seat in the rear is especially cozy: it offers an additional comfy footrest that can both massage and warm up feet.”

There’s no happy-ending to this video, because that would be the unveiling the new S8 for most Audi enthusiasts out there. The performance version of Audi’s luxury limo should debut next year, likely powered by the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine of the Porsche Panamera, delivering around 680hp.

New Audi A6 Confirmed For 2018 As Company Kicks Off Film Competition 19
Dec
Posted by Michael Gauthier in audi, Audi A6, Audi Videos, video on 12 19th, 2017

Audi is gearing up to unveil the all-new A6 and the company has announced plans to hold a film competition to help support the model’s launch.

The competition kicks off on December 21st but Audi says they are looking for “young talents and filmmakers to show off their vision” for the world premiere of the new A6 sedan. The company adds that people who are interested in the competition should focus on comfort, digitalization, and sportiness.

Audi is keeping tight-lipped about the car but the company did confirm it will be unveiled next year. That’s not much to go on but previous spy photos have shown the model will follow in the footsteps of the A8 and adopt a stylish front fascia with a wide grille that is flanked by slender headlights.

Under the hood, we can expect an assortment of four- and six-cylinder engines including a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 which develops 340 PS (250 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque. Later on, we can expect high-performance models and possibly a couple of plug-in hybrid variants.

Regardless of what’s under the hood, the new A6 will be significantly more advanced than its predecessor as the model is slated to come with the Level 3 semi-autonomous driving system from the A8.

750HP Audi RS6 Puts A Decent Fight Against 1,200HP Mercedes-AMG CLS 16
Dec
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in audi, Audi RS6, Audi Videos, Drag-Racing, mercedes, Mercedes CLS, Mercedes Videos, Russia, tuning, Unlimited 500, video on 12 16th, 2017

Despite this Audi RS6 packing a lot of extra muscle on top of its already impressive stock power figure, it still looks like it’s about to get a real whooping from this 1,200 HP CLS 63.

On paper, you could say this race is beyond unfair. Besides, it’s not as if the RS6 has some type of weight advantage to make up for how many horses it’s missing compared to its opponent.

Thanks to its GAD Motors tune, the CLS 63 in question is putting down a monstrous 1,200 HP, whereas the RS6 is good for 750 HP, spurred on by Gosha Turbo Tech’s GTT750 kit.

Expecting this race to end in a victory for the RS6 is completely unrealistic, which is why we didn’t bother keeping the result a secret from you. Yet, one would also expect the Mercedes to run circles around the Audi, after all, we’re talking about a 450 HP difference on two cars that weigh about the same.

Sure, if this drag race would have gone on longer, the CLS would have had time (and room) to put several seconds between itself and the RS6. Yet, they both ran a 10-second 1/4 mile.

Audi R8 V10 Plus Vs McLaren 570S In Fight Of Everyday Supercars 12
Dec

Both the Audi R8 and the McLaren 570, be it in S or GT version, are marketed by their manufacturers as combining supercar performance (and looks…) with everyday usability, which makes them natural rivals.

Before you give us your best guess regarding which one of these two cars is faster in a straight line, you should know how they stack up on paper.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus has bragging rights when it comes to power, sending 610 PS (601 HP) to all four wheels, together with 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. The output and the grip should, naturally, give it an advantage off the line.

Then again, McLaren has been known to be a bit conservative when it comes to its models’ power output figures, and the 570S is already pretty impressive in that department with 570 PS / 562 HP and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, according to the manufacturer.

Both cars can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds, and max out upwards of 328 km/h (203 mph) – the Audi will actually do 330 km/h (205 mph) flat.

Thanks to Archie Hamilton Racing, we get to see the two supercars go at each other multiple times, from a standing start as well as from a roll. As for the winner, sorry, but there are no spoilers here; you’ll have to watch the video to find out.

Should You Supercharge Your Audi R8? 9
Dec
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in audi, Audi R8, Audi Videos, reviews, tuning, video on 12 9th, 2017

If you find yourself having to “settle” for the non-Plus version of the current-generation Audi R8, adding VF Engineering’s VF800 bolt-on supercharger kit could make you feel a lot better.

As the system’s nomenclature suggests, you get a total of 800 crank HP on 91 octane fuel, making the car’s 540 stock horses a thing of the past. You also get 610 lb-ft (827 Nm) of torque.

As Matt Farah explains, these VF kits are designed to work on stock vehicles and unless you really put your foot down, you’ll hardly ever notice you’re driving a car with way more power than its manufacturer initially intended for it to have.

To put it plainly, this R8 is really, really fast. Its Eaton TVS2300 3-lobe roots supercharger provides what the tuner calls “lag-free instant punch” from as little as 2,300 rpm. This upgrade is also reversible, and costs $29,995, on top of the car, of course.

After blasting his way through the canyons behind the wheel of this tuned Audi R8, Farah went on to call the car “incredibly fast”, yet “civil and refined.”

In what has become a yearly tradition for Real Madrid players, these extremely talented footballers have just taken delivery of a host of new vehicles from team sponsor Audi.

Given free rein to choose from Audi’s fleet, no less than 14 players opted for the ever-popular Q7, three of which selected the Q7 e-tron quattro variant while one player, Kiko Casilla, picked up the keys to an SQ7 TDI.

Beyond the rather mundane Q7, some players did opt for Audi Sport models, four of which set to drive RS6 Avant Performance models for the next 12 months. A further two players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, will be rocking up to practice in their RS7 Sportbacks.

Other RS models picked by certain Real Madrid players include an R8 Spyder V10 and two RS5 Coupes, like the red one pictured here, chosen by winger Lucas Vazquez.

While attending the delivery event, a handful of players also had the chance to take a virtual test drive in the Audi e-tron FE04, the German manufacturer’s Formula E racer set to make its debut at the season opener in Hong Kong on December 2-3.

Audi R8 Spyder Is Even More Enjoyable Than The Coupe 24
Nov
Posted by Cristian Gnaticov in audi, Audi R8, Audi Videos, reviews, video on 11 24th, 2017

The Audi R8 appears to have it all: stunning looks, great interior and a fabulous 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine shared with the Lamborghini Huracan.

If you’d rather enjoy open-top motoring, then instead of the Coupe you’ll go for the Spyder version, which works very well as an everyday driver, as CarBuyer pointed out in their review of the base, 540 HP version.

Inside, everything feels very familiar, as most controls come from other Audis. There are some very good quality materials, standard equipment is generous and it includes the virtual cockpit as well, and you also get enough storage spaces for a car in this segment.

Take it out for a short spin and you will find that it simply grips to the road, has impressive amounts of power and a great gearbox. Moreover, with the roof up, the R8 Spyder is almost as relaxing to drive as the Coupe.

Still, there are some downsides with the £140,000 ($185,778) German supercar, such as the interior, which doesn’t feel that special, the steering isn’t as sharp as you would expect and the brake pedal is too mushy.

You can find the rest about Audi’s open-top supercar by hitting the “play” button in the video that follows right after the jump.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus Truly Is An All-Season Supercar 23

Most supercars get locked away for the winter and often fall too, but not this Audi R8 V10 Plus, which shows that it can handle the snow easily, almost as good as one of its iconic predecessors, the Quattro.

However, while the Quattro was rally-bred, the R8 is a 21st century supercar, and one of the few in this class that can be used as a daily driver without massive compromises.

Filmed at the foot of the Tatra Mountains in Zakopane, Poland, the following video depicts the German supercar in a beautiful landscape, with the R8 V10 Plus being referred to as “a real winter warrior”.

If the footage has whet your appetite, then get ready to spend at least $164,900 for the base 540 HP R8 Coupe, and some $30,000 more for the range-topping V10 Plus that’s featured here and puts out no less than 602hp and 413lb-ft (560Nm) of torque.

2019 Audi A8 To Be Shown In Los Angeles, Goes On Sale Next Fall 20
Nov
Posted by Michael Gauthier in audi, Audi A8, Audi Videos, LA Auto Show, video on 11 20th, 2017

The countdown to the Los Angeles Auto Show continues as Audi has announced plans to show the redesigned A8 in the City of Angels.

Originally unveiled over the summer, the 2019 A8 features an upscale design that borrows a number of styling cues from the Prologue concept. Detailed specifications will be announced closer to launch but the car features a wide Singleframe grille, OLED taillights, and plenty of metallic trim.

The interior is a bit of a departure from previous models as it comes equipped with two touchscreen displays. A variety of different options will be available including a head-up display, a Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system, and a four-zone climate control system. Other options include a rear seat entertainment system and a heated massaging footrest for the right rear passenger.

At launch, the 2019 A8 will be offered with a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine that is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system. In Europe, the engine produces 335 hp (250 kW) and 368 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Speaking of performance, the model can be equipped with active suspension and an optional dynamic all-wheel steering system which enables the A8 to have a turning radius of 38.7 ft (11.8 m) which is about the same as the significantly smaller A4 sedan.

Other advanced features include intersection assist, maneuver assist, and curb warning. There are also two automatic parking systems and the Audi AI traffic jam pilot system which enables the car to drive itself at speeds up to 37 mph (60 km/h) on highways.

The 2019 Audi A8 will go on sale in the United States in next fall and compete with the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class.

A Girl’s Guide To 2017 Audi S4 Avant Says It’s A Great All-Rounder 19
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in audi, Audi S4, Audi Videos, reviews, video on 11 19th, 2017

It’s a fact that most car reviewers are male, but this doesn’t mean that women can’t do the job, as we’ve already seen in many occasions, and the following review of the Audi S4 Avant is the latest we came by.

Saying no to all that power and practicality is pretty hard. The S4 Avant, just like its four-door sibling, is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 sending 354 PS (349 HP) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels via the car’s Quattro all-wheel drive system.

In a straight line, the S4 Avant will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds (the Sedan needs just 4.7), while sending up to 85% torque to the front or 70% to the rear axle when deemed appropriate.

Put it all together and what you have is a driver-friendly car that just about anybody can appreciate. Over the course of this review, Queen B goes as far as to say that the S4 Avant is probably the best all-round daily car she’s driven in a long time. Aside from the performance, she was really impressed with the interior quality as well, and Audi have indeed made great progress with this latest generation A4 on that front.

In the end, if you don’t want, need or can stretch to the range-topping RS4, but want a fast and at the same time practical Audi, the S4 is a great choice.

600 HP Audi TT Clubsport Turbo Would Make For A Perfect Supercar Slayer 18
Nov
Posted by Brad Anderson in audi, Audi Concepts, Audi TT, Audi Videos, concepts, video on 11 18th, 2017

Hot on the heels of being shown off at the SEMA Show, the Audi TT Clubsport Turbo has been detailed extensively by The Hoonigans channel on YouTube.

The car was first unveiled at the 2015 Worthersee Tour and is powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine delivering 600 hp. However, don’t think this TT just has a couple of off-the-shelf turbos slapped on. Instead, it features an electric turbocharger that receives energy from a 48-volt electrical sub-system.

Furthermore, the powertrain incorporates a small lithium-ion battery that stores the energy generated by recuperation while coasting.

The cool features don’t just stop there. As Dr. Rouven Mohr from Lamborghini explains in the video, Audi opted against using an S-tronic transmission and have instead mated a six-speed manual ‘box to the engine.

Oh, and before you ask, yes, the car does run and sound just as insane as you’d imagine.

Audi’s Holiday Parking Lot Ad Takes Subtle Swipe At Mercedes 17
Nov

It looks like Audi just couldn’t help themselves from taking another shot at Mercedes-Benz owners in their latest ad for the holidays, titled “Parking Lot.”

The ad itself is pretty fun, fast-paced and realistic, in the sense that trying to find a spot at a shopping mall during holiday season can be an even bigger nightmare than what’s being portrayed here.

Starring in the commercial are two RS-powered Audis, specifically an RS3 sedan and an RS7. Safe to say, there’s not a lot of room to put any significant power down inside a parking garage.

Yet, that’s exactly what the guys behind the wheel did, while trying to find a spot and get their shopping on. Eventually, their mood goes from calm, to stressed out, and in the end, quite desperate.

As for what Audi thinks of Mercedes-Benz owners, midway through the commercial you can see a confused elderly man trying to find his car by pressing the buttons on his key. Then, behind him, you’ll see the trunk open on a Mercedes-Benz saloon, a bit out of focus.

The look of astonishment on the Audi driver’s face is pretty priceless though.

How Far Can You Drive With A Fuel Gauge Reading 0 Km? 14

Owning a car that tells you exactly how much range it has left can be a nerve-racking experience, especially if you’re prone to delaying refueling for as long as possible.

On a mission to see just how accurate the predicted range of a car is, Australian comedians and radio hosts Hamish and Andy jumped behind the wheel of an Audi SQ5.

The duo commenced their test as soon as the Audi’s range dropped to 0 km and didn’t expect to be on the road for much longer. They were very wrong.

As the minutes ticked by, the punchy SUV continued to soldier on, storming past the 20 km (12 mile) and 50 km (31 mile) marks. Remarkably, the SUV kept on going, eventually coming to a halt some 111.9 km (69.5 miles) after indicating it had a range of 0 km.

Importantly, it’s worth noting that the test was carried out at highway speeds and city driving wouldn’t have allowed for such a generous range. What’s more, running your car’s tank to empty isn’t recommended, as it can damage the fuel pump.

Artsy Video Shows Audi RS6 Avant Performance’s Brutal Side 12
Nov
Posted by Cristian Gnaticov in audi, Audi RS6, Audi Videos, video on 11 12th, 2017

There may be a new Audi A6 coming our way soon,  together with an even wilder RS6 Avant, but the current iteration still holds its ground.

And we’re not even talking about extreme tuned examples we see on the drag strip, but rather a stock RS6 Performance edition, fitted only with an optional Akrapovic exhaust system, from Audi Sport.

Shot in an artsy way by Auditography in Malmo, Sweden, the film showcases the super estate that hides its brutal power from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, under a super practical and roomy body with elegant lines.

Total output stands at 605PS (597hp) and 750Nm (553lb-ft), which allows it to reach 100km/h (62mph) from a standstill in just 3.7sec. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h (155mph), but it can be lifted to 280km/h (174mph), with the optional dynamic package.

It can do this while claiming to consume an average of 9.6 l/100 km (24.5 US mpg / 29 UK mpg), as estimated by the manufacturer, while emitting 223 g/km of CO2. Not bad for a car that’s almost 5 years old, right?
