Jaguar Developed This F-Type SVR GT4 For Wounded Warriors |
14 Jan |
Proud as its racing record stands, it’s been a while since we’ve seen production-based Jaguars competing on track. That’s all about to change, though, with the car you see here and a unique partnership.
What you’re looking at is the first customer-racing version of the Jaguar F-Type SVR, specially catered by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division to meet GT4 regulations.
The brakes, wheels, tires, suspension, transmission, and engine have all been refitted specifically for competition use. The all-wheel drive system was ditched in favor of rear-drive only, and the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 will likely have been detuned to comply with the rulebook.
Perhaps even more intriguing, however, is the team that will field the first of these competition-spec Jags in the British GT Championship this season.
The F-Type GT4 was commissioned by Invictus Games Racing, an offshoot of the wounded-warrior athletic competition, and as such will put a roster of injured military servicemen behind the wheel. The initial lineup includes JLR engineer and former paratrooper Basil Rawlinson, former RAF sergeant Ben Norfolk, and former marine-commando Paul Vice, a partial amputee who won seven medals (including two golds) in the 2016 Invictus Games.
They’ll be paired with (and mentored by) experienced racers Jason Wolfe and Matthew George, in a team started by Superdry clothing designer James Holder (who drove in the same series in 2016). They’ll hit the track for the first race of the season on March 31 at Oulton Park, where they’ll be first and foremost racing against each other, but also hoping to challenge for race wins.

You Can Now Rent A 575HP Jaguar F-Type SVR For $299 Per Day |
12 Jan |
The Jaguar F-Type SVR is the most hardcore F-Type the British automaker sells. With a starting price tag of roughly $127,000, only well-off enthusiasts have the opportunity to experience the high-performance Jag. But Enterprise has fixed that issue by allowing drivers to rent the vehicle in select locations.
The F-Type SVR is a 575-hp beast thanks to its supercharged 5.0-liter V8 which sounds amazing. In addition to the breathtaking soundtrack, the F-Type can get to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 200 mph.
Thanks to a new partnership with Jaguar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is allowing drivers to rent the sports car in 15 locations around the U.S. The F-Type SVR will become a part of Enterprise’s Exotic Car Collection fleet in the following locations: Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, Fla., Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Seattle, North Carolina, Phoenix, Nashville, Tenn., Minnesota, and Naples, Fla.
The F-Type SVR joins the likes of the Ferrari California, Lamborghini Huracan, Porsche 911, and Maserati GranTurismo in Enterprise’s list of available exotic rentals and slots in as the second most powerful car available, behind the 602hp Huracan.
Depending on your location, and other factors, it can be rented from Enterprise for approximately $299 a day. This might sound a bit expensive, but if you consider that renting an Audi R8 Spyder costs roughly $799 a day, then it’s a bargain.
Enterprise’s Exotic Car Collection has grown to include more than 50 locations across the U.S. after being founded in 2006. The American car rental company is looking to expand to more states in the States and Canada in the near future, giving more enthusiasts the opportunity to live out their automotive dreams, even for a while.

First Teaser Of New Top Gear Series Calls Ken Block On Duty |
26 Dec |
The first trailer of the new 25th season of Top Gear has aired, showing Ken Block chasing the three presenters around on loose gravel.
Armed with a buggy, Officer Block has his sights set on Matt, Chris and Rory who are driving a selection of V8 sports cars, including the Ford Mustang GT350R, the McLaren 570 GT and the Jaguar F-Type SVR.
It’s not the first time we see Block showcasing his tire-shredding abilities on the popular show, with the last one being the now-infamous sight-seeing tour through London with his Hoonicorn Mustang.
If you ever wanted to see how a modern McLaren tackles the dirt or were just thirsty for some lovely V8 noises, the new season of Top Gear will have you covered.
Unfortunately the show didn’t reveal its premiere date just yet, but they did promise to announce it early next year.

Get A Low Mileage Jaguar F-Type V8 S For The Price Of A Civic Coupe |
8 Dec |
With four days still left to bid on this 2014 Jaguar F-Type V8 S Convertible, any petrolhead who’s on the lookout for a new ride might want to check out this ad.
To us, the prospect of purchasing a 495 PS (488 HP) F-Type with just 13,000 miles (20,921 km) on the clock is pretty exciting. At the time of writing this article, the highest bid was $20,000, which makes it very tempting indeed.
According to the Bring a Trailer ad, the car comes with adaptive suspension, active exhaust, electronically-controlled LSD, 20-inch wheels, heated seats and steering wheel, and a Meridian sound system.
It also sports the Vision Pack, which adds adaptive lighting, automatic high-beams, a rear-view camera and blind spot monitoring, and the Design Pack that includes the body-colored front bumper splitter, aero splitters and side sill extensions. In other words, this car is pretty loaded on all fronts.
The F-Type V8 S can sprint from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and tops out at 300 km/h (186 mph). Moreover, the seller was nice enough to make a video showing off the Jag’s exhaust note, which you’re probably going to enjoy.

Jaguar Offering Up To $30,000 In Discounts For F-Type |
14 Nov |
Jaguar is offering a number of generous discounts for the F-Type, presumably in an attempt to clear out 2017 stock.
Cars Direct has discovered that a dealer cash incentive has been introduced by the British marque, allowing dealerships to offer up to $30,000 off the MSRP for the potent F-Type SVR model. A discount of up to $20,000 is also being offered for the R while there is a $10,000 incentive available for V6 models.
Importantly, it is the dealer’s prerogative as to whether or not it passes on these incentives to customers. One dealership already advertising a heavily discounted F-Type SVR AWD is Jaguar Louisville, pricing the performance car at just $100,533, a full $30,000 off the MSRP.
The aforementioned offers are set to expire on January 2, 2018.

Jaguar F-Type Climbs Up The Factory Wall To Honor Veterans |
10 Nov |
A sports car that handles as well as the Jaguar F-Type may feel like it can drive up a wall, but this one actually is.
To honor Britain’s men and women in uniform, past and present, Jaguar emblazoned an F-Type with a special poppy livery, reminiscent of the symbol of remembrance.
The vehicle has been installed on the face of Castle Bromwich, where Jaguar builds the F-Type and where the Spitfire fighter aircraft was built between 1938 and 1945.
The installation, which bears the words of John McCrae’s enduring poetic WWI tribute In Flanders Field, sits 35 feet high – opposite the Sentinel sculpture and visible to motorists traveling down the M6 motorway.
Honored with the Gold Award of the Armed Forces Covenant employer recognition program, Jaguar Land Rover has hired 750 former servicemen and women since 2013 alone – including 18 wounded veterans in its own ranks, and another 11 at associated suppliers.
A second F-Type SVR with the same livery is slated to embark upon a ten-day tour of the UK. The tour kicks off on the Royal British Legion’s Birmingham Poppy Day, serving along the way as safety car for the Mission Motorsport’s fourth annual Race of Remembrance, and ending on Remembrance Sunday.
