Alright, Alright: Matthew McConaughey Doesn’t Say A Word In New 2018 Lincoln Navigator Ad 28

Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey is back behind the wheel of a Lincoln, just in time for the NCAA football playoffs.

The new ad campaign, dubbed ‘Perfect Rhythm’, will feature two spots starring McConaughey and the 2018 Navigator, this being the first one.

“Perfect rhythm refers to the feeling you get in those situations when everything comes together,” said Lincoln marketing exec, John Emmert. “This is our most spacious, refined and capable Navigator ever, combining modern luxury with advanced technology that elevates every passenger’s experience.”

The video was shot in the Pacific Northwest by cinematographer Wally Pfister, who also worked on the “That’s Continental” campaign. The concept was to have McConaughey pull up to a railroad crossing and start an impromptu concert, although no train is in sight.

“This piece is all about energy,” added Emmert. “You see Matthew in control. He starts a rhythm and it builds, and he becomes the master of his experience. We’ve overlaid a complex sound design as a freight train enters the scene and rumbles by. There’s this wonderful crescendo of light and sound that builds and then ends as suddenly as it begins.”

The two-part campaign will air as a TV ad during the January 1st College Football Playoffs, starting with this 60-second video. A second spot will then air later on in the month.

If You Like HUDs Then You’ll Love What Lincoln Has Done With The Navigator 22

Lincoln needed a reason to brag about the advanced head-up display of the new Navigator and what better opportunity to do it than during the winter solstice, the shortest and darkest day of the year.

Lincoln claims that the HUD unit in the new Navigator is a state-of-the-art system based on a chip with 400,000 sturdy mirrors and a higher refresh rate than other system on the market, employing the same digital light processing technology used in movie theaters.

All this jargon means that the Navigator’s HUD is visible even in bright sunlight and offers a big, customizable display that shifts around the chosen information based on its importance at that given moment.

“A typical head-up display duplicates information displayed on the cluster,” said Anthony King, development lead on Lincoln’s all-new head-up display. “But this display makes for a unique and easy-to-use experience for our clients. This eminently visible head-up display and the instrument cluster serve to complement each other to ensure Lincoln clients look forward to every time behind the wheel.”

If you wanted to find out which head-up display might be the best, now you know. Lincoln offers their advanced head-up display in both the new Navigator, as well as in the Continental.

New Lincoln Nautilus Celebrated On Film 30

Lincoln have started changing the nomenclature of their models, with the first one to arrive with a new moniker being the updated MKX, aka Nautilus.

Unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, the premium midsize SUV is being celebrated on film, where the Ford-owned brand uses words such as “beauty meets serenity” to describe it.

Regardless if you’re a fan of its exterior design, with a front end that’s similar to the Lincoln Continental, new tail lamps joined together by a lights strip, and generously-sized wheels, the carmaker will start rolling out the first units next year, as it’s scheduled to arrive at dealers nationwide in mid-2018.

Customers can choose between the three distinctive exterior and interior themes, sold under the Black Label moniker, including the Chalet, Thoroughbred, and Gala, with the latest one being shown in the SUV’s official launch film.

Moreover, they will also have to decide whether the entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is the one to go for, with 245hp, or if the larger 2.7-liter unit, rated at 335hp, is the smart choice. Both of them are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and get standard stop/start tech.

Lincoln Teases A Mysterious New Vehicle, Debuts Tomorrow 27
Nov

The Los Angeles Auto Show kicks into high gear tomorrow and Lincoln has just released a baffling new teaser video.

The 10 second long clip doesn’t reveal much but it confirms the automaker will introduce something on November 28th. That’s not much to go on but the company hinted the model is going to “make a lasting impression.”

Lincoln is keeping coy on specifics but previous reports have suggested the company is working on an all-new Aviator. It’s possible the company could preview the model with a concept as the vehicle is slated to be launched in 2019.

The mystery model will be shown alongside the 2019 MKC which features a new front end that resembles the Continental and MKZ. The facelifted crossover has also been equipped with new LED taillights and an updated infotainment system.

Under the hood, the two engines will be available. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder now produces 245 hp (182 kW), while the optional turbocharged 2.3-liter engine develops 285 hp (212 kW) and 305 lb-ft (413 Nm) of torque.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC will go on sale next summer and the model will be available in three different Black Label themes.

2019 Lincoln MKC Has A New Face And Various Updates 21
Nov

Three years after it went on sale, the Lincoln MKC has been given its first major update, wrapped up under a 2019MY.

The biggest change is found at the front, where the Ford Escape-based crossover gets a new grille and headlights, while at the other end, it has tweaked taillights, with LED technology.

Inside, it remains virtually unchanged, and customers should expect the same premium materials, joined by the latest SYNC 3 infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, WiFi, USB ports, optional panoramic roof and three Black Label options, among others.

Lincoln’s 2019 MKC also benefits from a suite of driver assist technologies such as Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Active Park Assist, Lane Keeping Alert, and Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Alert.

The 2.0-liter and 2.3-liter engines continue to power Lincoln’s updated crossover, which now make 245hp and 285hp, respectively, a slight increase from the previous 240hp and 275hp. Both units can be paired to the brand’s all-wheel drive system.

Being a 2019MY, the facelifted Lincoln MKC will arrive at dealers nationwide starting next summer, but before that happens, it will be displayed at the 2017 LA Auto Show, which opens its gates for the international media on November 27.

2017 Lincoln MKZ Gets Reviewed By Consumer Reports 20
Nov
Posted by Andreas Tsaousis in Lincoln, Lincoln MKZ, Lincoln Videos, video on 11 20th, 2016

Having been launched in 2013, it was high time the MKZ received a mid-life update; and it turned out to be a quite comprehensive one, too.

There wasn’t much wrong with the old saloon to begin with, but this is a fiercely contested segment, so Lincoln couldn’t afford to stay complacent, especially in the face of the competition.

Design-wise, the MKZ has adopted the larger Continental‘s more conservative styling, with the all-new grille and headlights being the most prominent change, while the cabin has received a freshening up, too. Plus, this being a 2017 MY car, there’s the latest comfort and safety tech available – depending, of course, on the trim level.

What’s interesting is that Lincoln has dialed back the sportiness not just on the design, but on the suspension settings and, thus, driving characteristics of the MKZ, opting for more comfort and luxury instead. Consumer Reports has given the updated Linc the once over and highlights its advantages and drawbacks.
