Ferrari F430 With Stick Shift Is What Purists Dream Of 12
Dec
Posted by Cristian Gnaticov in Ferrari, Ferrari F430, Ferrari-Videos, reviews, video on 12 12th, 2017

Nowadays, Ferrari doesn’t offer cars fitted with manual gearboxes, as in the past few years the vast majority of its customers opted for the automated or dual-clutch versions. Not that long ago, though, they did, with the chrome gate and stick shift being one of its staples, and this feature now makes those vehicles sell for a hefty premium in the used car market.

The F430 is one of the exotics made in Maranello that was available with a six-speed manual transmission, alongside the electrohydraulic semi-auto.

Even by today’s standards, the F430 is very fast: naught to 60mph (96km/h) comes up in just 3.7 seconds, and top speed stands at in excess of 196mph (315km/h), courtesy of the 443 HP output of its 4.3-liter naturally aspirated V8.

So this supercar has all the right things to make an enthusiast yearn for it: a mid-mounted N/A V8, rear wheel drive and a manual gearbox. It has also aged quite well in the 8 years since Ferrari dropped it from their lineup and replaced it with the 458 Italia, but how does the world look like from the cockpit of such a wonderful machine?

YouTuber Marchettino had the chance to take one out for a spin, in the rain, and even if it wasn’t pushed to the limit on a twisty road, it still proves why these models appreciate with each passing day.

Oh, and don’t worry about the Italian spoken in this review, as it does have English subtitles, so sit back and relax while checking out the 13-minute video below.

Ferrari 360 Owner Has A Blast Thrashing His Supercar In Monaco 7
Dec

Say what you want about the driver of this Ferrari 360, but when you have an Italian supercar at your disposal during a night out in Monaco, things are bound to get noisy, real fast.

Equipped with an aftermarket exhaust system, for a deeper tone, this Prancing Horse was spotted around the streets of the Principality revving its heart out.

The driver was obviously having a blast, and now he has the videos to remind him of his joyride thanks to a few bystanders excited by the show, who took out their cameras/phones and started recording when they heard the V8 symphony.

Anyway, it’s nice to see that the Ferrari 360 still has it, some 12 years after its production ended and was replaced by the F430, and to remind us that, even though today’s hot hatches might equal it on power, they’ll never match it when it comes to charisma.

‘Wolf Of The Autostrada’ Sees The Return Of Ruf’s Iconic Yellowbird 6

The Ruf CTR, better known as the Yellowbird, is something of a mystical figure in the automotive world.

At the time of its release in 1987, the Yellowbird had 469 hp and 408 lb-ft on tap and could sprint all the way to 213 mph (342 km/h). The car then became the stuff of legend when Stefan Roser brought to the Nurburgring, sliding around the circuit’s incredibly dangerous corners.

Perhaps eager to remind us of the 1980s, Ruf has just dropped an interesting short movie dubbed ‘Wolf of the Autostrada’, starring a Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Countach, Aston Martin Vantage, and the Yellowbird.

The film captures some mesmerizing driving of the four performance cars and even stars Valentino Balboni and none other than Stefan Roser himself.

If you have a spare 5 minutes, this is the way to spend it.

Tesla Model S P100D Seeks Spotlight By Taking On Stock Ferrari FF 5
Dec
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Drag-Racing, Ferrari, Ferrari FF, Ferrari-Videos, Tesla, Tesla Model S, Tesla Videos, tuning, video on 12 5th, 2017

It’s been a while since we last saw the Model S P100D challenge a V12-powered supercar, and as far as the latter goes, the Ferrari FF is a good a choice as any.

It’s got 660 PS (651 HP) and 683 Nm (504 lb-ft) of torque, which play their part in taking the Italian thoroughbred from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds, before maxing out at 335 km/h (208 mph).

This particular FF also features a set of golden Ankry wheels and an aftermarket iPE exhaust, although making more noise isn’t going to scare the P100D away, especially since this race is about which car accelerates faster, rather than which has the highest top speed.

So while the Ferrari sounds extremely menacing, the Tesla did what it does best as soon as it got off the line. In fact, its performance was impressive enough to take us back to a time before the McLaren 720S became the most exciting car in drag racing circles.

As for the FF, it did show signs of catching up to the Model S at one point, though not soon enough to change the outcome of the race.

A Ferrari F40 In British Racing Green? Well, Why Not? [w/Video] 3

What do you do if you’re a prolific car collector, have some spare money and aren’t worried about affecting the resale value of an iconic supercar you own? If you’re Eugenio Amos, you paint your Ferrari F40 in British Racing Green.

Images of the car were shared on the owner’s Instagram page and, to our surprise, the color, officially dubbed Verde Abetone, actually looks incredible on one of the most desirable Ferrari models ever produced.

To create such a unique car, the F40 spent roughly three months in an Italian paint shop undergoing its comprehensive transformation. To complement the new paint, the seats and headliner were also modified and covered in Cuoio Schedoni-colored alcantara.

Amos also owns a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion and more, so his green F40 should be right at home in a truly bonkers collection.

This Ferrari LaFerrari Doesn’t Mind Going For A Little Swim 2
Dec
Posted by Cristian Gnaticov in Ferrari, Ferrari LaFerrari, Ferrari-Videos, Hybrids, Offbeat News, video on 12 2nd, 2017

Relax, no one lost control and ended up in the water or was crazy enough to try and turn Ferrari’s hybrid hypercar into an amphibious machine; but even so, we highly doubt many owners would even think about putting their precious LaFerrari through this.

In fact, it’s interesting to see a LaFerrari stepping out of its comfort zone, even for a few precious seconds. That’s because most of its siblings are locked away for the cold season, and some for most of their lives as their owners are waiting for them to appreciate in order to make loads of money after floating them in the “used” exotic car market.

The short film reminds us of another one, posted on social media last month, where a bunch of exotics, including a LaFerrari and a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, were taken off-roading and got those precious and sexy bodies dirty.

As was the case with that clip, this one may have been inspired by the famous YouTube Channel ‘TaxTheRich‘, which has done a fain number of stunts with numerous high-end cars over the years.

Rare Ferrari FXX Evo Crashes During Monza Track Day 27
Nov
Posted by Brad Anderson in Accidents, Ferrari, Ferrari-Videos, Offbeat News, video on 11 27th, 2017

A rare Ferrari FXX Evoluzione has been badly damaged after a high-speed crash at Monza during a track day.

This vision, snapped by 19Bozzy92 on YouTube, shows the red and white FXX Evo entering the first chicane with far too much speed. Apparently, the crash occurred during the driver’s first flying lap of the circuit and appears to have been sparked by tires that weren’t up to their proper operating temperature.

Unable to make the corner, the track-only Italian hypercar slides sideways over a yellow and black curb, ripping off one of the wheels in the process. The out-of-control FXX then crosses the circuit, skids through a gravel trap and slams head-on to the tire wall.

Fortunately, the driver wasn’t injured in the crash but there’s no doubt this will be a costly repair.

Was The BB 512 The Coolest Ferrari Of Its Time? 22
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Classics, Ferrari, Ferrari-Videos, Middle East, reviews, video on 11 22nd, 2017

As a predecessor to the Testarossa and a successor in name to the Ferrari 512 race car, the BB 512, which stands for Berlinetta Boxer, is the type of rare exotic that leaves you wanting more.

According to Doug DeMuro, even though the BB 512 is far from perfect, once you put your foot down, everything about it should start making sense. It’s fast and it will put a smile on your face in a straight line.

Also, you can expect people driving modern day exotics to notice and admire your Ferrari Boxer, which is exactly what happened to him as he was driving this car on the streets of Dubai – a place where the roads are packed with expensive rides.

Inside, the Boxer is plenty quirky, even for a mid-70’s Ferrari. You get things like dual cigarette lighters, sun visors that “button” in place, and even storage spaces, which were rare in cars from this era.

On the road, DeMuro found the Boxer to have a “go-kart feel”, while commending it for its steering, which he said was great and felt very heavy at low speeds. He also enjoyed the soundtrack and as we said before, the acceleration.

As for what powers this car, it’s a 360 HP flat-V12 engine, which also produces 450 Nm (330 lb-ft) of torque. The end result is a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) time of 5.4 seconds.

Watch How Craftsmen And Robots Make Your Favorite Ferraris 20

Some car manufacturers are looking to use nothing but robots in the construction of their vehicles. Fortunately, Ferrari isn’t one of them.

As part of the carmaker’s ongoing 70th anniversary celebrations, Wired was granted exclusive access to the Ferrari factory, filming all of the important construction processes and having a look at how robots and expert craftsmen combine to build the brand’s much-loved models.

While Ferrari produces less than 10,000 cars a year, its production line is incredibly advanced. In fact, the Italian marque has eight autonomous vehicles that carry powertrains throughout the factory and help to install them into every vehicle.

If you’re a fan of Ferrari, this video is well worth watching.

Ferrari Tour Visits Jerusalem’s Western Wall, And People Were Not Impressed 8
Nov
Posted by Carscoops Staff in Ferrari, Ferrari-Videos, Middle East, video on 11 8th, 2017

Ferrari is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, with regional offices and local dealerships organizing tours for owners around the world.

That includes Israel, where the Tel Aviv dealership assembled a rally across the small Mediterranean country.

Among the places which the tour visited was the capital Jerusalem, including a stop early last Friday morning at the Western Wall plaza – an area from which traffic is typically prohibited from entering, except with special permission from the relevant authorities.

The organizers of the Ferrari tour obtained that authorization, but not everyone was impressed. According to the Times of Israel, one passerby called the display “disgusting” and “outrageous.” Another derided the display as a “commercial gimmick” with no place at the Wall.

One of Jerusalem’s holiest sites, and a central pilgrimage site for Jews around the world, the Western Wall is the last remaining vestige of the Temple that once stood atop the mountain. The wall (or “kotel” in Hebrew) was built by King Herod in the year 19 BCE to retain the hilltop plaza, where the Dome of the Rock (one of Islam’s holiest sites) now sits.

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation authorized the visit, its chairman Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch describing it as “an innocent agreement to allow parking for a few minutes in the early morning.” However the national government’s Religious Services minister David Azoulay said “there is no place for such flashy displays at this holy place,” convening a meeting to prevent such events from happening in the future.

Ferrari 458 GT Is A Brutal Alarm Clock For Driver 3
Nov
Posted by Sergiu Tudose in Ferrari, ferrari 458, Ferrari-Videos, Funny, Offbeat News, video on 11 3rd, 2017

If you thought that waking up next to a track-focused Ferrari 458 was more of a dream come true, as it turns out, that’s not always the case.

As you can imagine, race car drivers are not immune to feeling tired, especially after long hours of traveling, which isn’t usually a problem unless you’re about to get pranked by the very people who are otherwise there to help.

Here, the team decides to use an unconventional method for waking this guy up and while it may have seemed funny to them, he didn’t appreciate it at all.

After they gently rolled the car back towards the couch, they fired up the engine, which wasn’t what woke the driver up. By the way, that makes sense since he’s probably used to hearing that power unit fire up.

Of course, once they revved the car, well, let’s just say that’s no way for a person to wake up. You can almost get a sense for how loud it actually was simply by turning up the volume on your speakers. Ouch.
