College Design Student Envisions Extreme Lamborghini Supercar to Compete with Veyron SS 10

When sheer entertainment design and functionality clash, you get a student at the Art Center College of Design dreaming up a Lamborghini supercar that would compete with the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport if such a thing was ever conceived.

What may be considered to be a little over the top, is a concept sketch envisioned by the Art College student Ondrej Jirec, his Lamborghini Perdigón. The futuristic exterior features an aerodynamic design, panoramic glass roof, vertical rear fin, high center-mounted exhaust and a center-mounted air intake to complement.

The interior design looks like something taken from the Hollywood Star Trek film reels. The flat-bottom steering wheel with an integrated display highlights a driver-focused cockpit.

Of course this envisioned concept remains on paper but it may give inspiration for future development brass at Lamborghini if they are really knocked off of their socks with such an extreme design. What do you think? A little too much or just right?

Rumors are swirling around the stables of South Korean automaker Hyundai. And, in fact, it is a super rumor about the car maker cooking up a super car. The vehicle will come with power train of all-aluminum Tao 5.0-liter V8 –  akin to what is now powering the Genesis R-Spec. The cost is estimated to be between $80,000 and $100,000.

If the rumblings are to be taken to face value, this coupe will compete with extraordinary machines on the road, like the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911. It is also being said that the front engine and mid-engine designs are under consideration.

An updated edition of the 4.6-liter V8 boosted by direct injection and a higher compression ratio is what the car will boast of. What type of injection the supercar will use is still being debated on.

While many feel that it would be a six-speed, others think it could be a twin-clutch auto-manual.

We are still waiting to heard from the carmaker themselves on that.
