Volkswagen, which is already expanding production to beyond the Passat, Jetta and Beetle models, will build their upcoming Tiguan model in Mexico. To be built either at the Chattanooga plant or the Pueblo plant in the Latin American nation, VW will be looking at increasing production units and sales of the Tiguan model. The Pueblo plant is where the Jetta and Beetle are assembled.

In the meantime, the German car maker will also be looking at cutting down on production costs too. This apart, by around 2013, the company will also be lining up the North American production for the Tiguan. The new production plans will help us have a look at the new facelifted compact SUV Tiguan.

If you would remember, the 2007 Tiguan had sold 700,000 units world wide. The facelift was provided this February and next generation is expected by 2013.
