Swiss automobile company Protoscar has come up with their latest edition of its EV sports vehicle, christened Lampo3. The first generation of this efficient concept – Lampo – was first unveiled in 2009 and was followed up by the Lampo2 boasting much more powerful drive. The third generation of Lampo 2+2 coupe comes with a streamlined steel chassis, a ramified body and a removable targa roof.

The electric vehicle is jointly powered by three electric motors that produce  420 kW (563 kW / 570 PS) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. This electric car uses unique assembling methods with one motor on the front axle, two on the rear axle. The car has rear torque vectoring and four-wheel drive.

More details about the vehicle are still under the wraps. But Protoscar says that the 3rd edition of Lampo can race from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. It also can touch a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph) and has the capability to travel up to 200 km (124 miles) on a single charge.  Like other future cars of this nature, the Lampo3 uses regenerative braking technology to give back energy to the two lithium-ion battery system.

The battery pack comprises a 32 kWh lithium-ion cell equipped with a BRUSA on-board charger which has the flexibility of getting charged from a standard single-phase 10A plug to a three-phase 32A industrial plug. We need to expect the arrival of the car soon, but then the car maker looks like set for just a few limited numbers. Stay tuned for more on that.

Check out a video on the vehicle in the meantime.
