|Lamborghini Aventador vs BMW M6 vs Porsche GT 3 RS||
Here is a little something to brighten up the start of your week.
If you could put your money on either a Lamborghini Aventador, a BMW M6 or a Porsche GT 3 wining a drag race, which one would it be? I know which horse I’d back…
Well, obviously we’re not really at a racing track but we can dream, can’t we? Recently, DragInfo posted a video on their YouTube channel of this exact scenario.
A Lamborghini Aventador, modified to have 730 horsepower taking on a PP performance tuned BMW M6 and, just for good measure, a 1000 horsepower Porsche GT 3 RS joins the party.
The Lambo takes on the BMW first, and, while the BMW takes the lead in the first second, the Aventador shows why it has once been labeled the fastest car in the world and trumps the BMW, making the mile-mark in 26.79 seconds. At 306 km/h!
After its impressive performance against the BMW, the Aventador then takes on the Porsche GT 3 RS. Keep in mind that the Porsche is sitting with a whopping 1000hp…
That’s all I’m saying for now. Check out the video below to see the final results:
|Video: Tesla Model S vs BMW M5||
If a solid drag race is what you’re after, then this next video will totally be worth the watch.
This video shows a Tesla Model S go up against a BMW M5. The Tesla has been getting a lot of attention lately, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up against a M5.
The video was filmed during Automobile Magazine’s 2013 Automobile of the Year testing.
So, without further a due, check out the drag race below:
|2 Ferrari Enzo’s and an Empty Airstrip…||
What do you do when you have two, stunning Ferrari Enzo’s and an empty airstrip?
You drag race them of course!
The video below features two Ferrari Enzo’s, one black and one red, taking part in a drag race at the Royal Air Force Base. Many people argue that the Enzo is one the best Ferrari’s ever built – so this challenge sure is exciting!
Check out the video below to witness (and hear) the roaring Ferrari’s!
|Thrilling Three-way: Porsche vs. Lamborghini vs. Corvette||
If you’ve ever wondered which supercar truly is the fastest when it comes to drag racing, then we have something that should interest you.
The premise was simple: The winner of the first race will then go up against the luscious Lamborghini in the final race. This obviously means that first race is between the Porsche and the Corvette.
It is important to keep in mind that the Corvette Z06 is the only one out of these three cars that does not have an all-wheel drive. Will this already be putting the Corvette at a disadvantage?
Now, the best thing about this drag race is that all the cars involved are stock cars. This means that none of them have been modified or tuned in any way – it truly is a reflection of the car and it’s standard manufacturing.
So, who will it be; the powerful Porsche, the lovely Lambo or the cautious Corvette? Check the video below to find out!
|Audi vs Audi RS4||
Chris Harris is at it again.
The older model had some help from REVO Technik, which should obviously help it in it’s performance. But will that be enough to tackle the RS4?
Check out the video below to see which one of these two Audi’s wins the drag race and title of ‘better Audi’:
|Spitfire Fighter Plane vs New Range Rover Sport||
Range Rover sure knows how to get people talking about their brand, if this video is anything to go by!
Range Rover recently organized a rather unique, yet terribly thrilling, off-road challenge featuring their all new Range Rover Sport.
The latest Range Rover is set to make it’s official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next week.
Surely to create some hype around it’s debut, the new Range Rover took part in a duel with a classic, 1945 Vickers Supermarine Spitfire, to see which one is “the real off-road master”
The race was a straight drag run up and down a grass airstrip at the Goodwood Aerodrome. The race was also punctuated by a nasty and quite difficult, U-turn.
Gallery: Ready for action – The Spitfire and The Range Rover
It might seem like a futile attempt for the Range Rover, as the Spitfire boasts a 1750-hp V12 Merlin engine. This of course ensures the Spitfire a take-off speed of 130km/h and a whopping 643km/h airspeed!
The Range Rover Sport, on the other hand, has a 510-hp, supercharged V8 engine. Range Rover’s latest creation clocked in at an amazing 209km/h at the turn, which actually made the race pretty close.
The race was head-to-head right down to the finish line…
Check out the video below to see who eventually took top honours:
|Mazda’s Clever Marketing – Fastest Convertible in the World||
Mazda has launched a new marketing video that promotes their MX-5 Miata convertible.
In recent days, the video has gone viral and exploded all around the internet.
The premise of the video, is that Mazda’s MX-5 Miata convertible is the fastest convertible in the world – an impressive feat if you consider that the video features the MX-5 Miata competing in a drag race against world renowned, prestigious convertibles: The Lamborghini Gallardo, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, a Ford Mustang V6 and a Porsche 911 Carrera.
There is a little twist to this tale, however – and that makes this a great marketing video.
Check out the video below to find out exactly how the Mazda MX-5 Miata beats it’s stiff competition:

|Motor Trend Stages ‘World’s Greatest Drag Race Part 2′: Video||
You may remember the ‘World’s Greatest Drag Race’ from last year, where Motor Trend pitted some of the hottest performance cars around against each other in a full quarter-mile sprint. This year, fresh off the heels of Motor Trend’s ‘2012 Best Driver’s Car shindig, they take their new round of vehicles for a mad dash.
The cars in the lineup include the new McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe, Camaro ZL1, Lamborghini Aventador, Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, Subaru BRZ, Nissan GTR Black Edition and Jaguar XKR-S.
Godzilla fans will be disappointed to see their famed GT-R get dethroned this year. Although, I am sure many of you may disagree with the results and ask yourself; who the hell is driving those cars? With the poor ol’ Subaru BRZ, not even the best race car driver could make anything magic happen in that car. Though, it did get a good launch and finishes the race with some ‘style’. Maybe next time they can throw in a Nissan Leaf against the Pagani Huayra, Koenigsegg Agera R and a Ferrari just for kicks. Hit up the World’s Greatest Drag Race Part 2 video below and enjoy!
|Video: Stock 2013 Nissan GT-R Consistently Runs 10 Seconds in Quarter Mile||
When we took the liberty of pushing the new 2013 Nissan GT-R to the limit at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) and drag strip, our official run times were not recorded. For all we know, we could have been putting down consistent 10-second runs in the quarter mile. One GT-R owner, who recently took his new 2013 ‘Godzilla’ to the same track, was able to lay down a best run of 10.87 seconds in the quarter mile… all from a stock GT-R. Interestingly enough, the GT-R was able to lay down this time consistently run after run.
This time is on par with the short list of test drivers to get behind the wheel of a new 2013 Nissan GT-R and record official quarter mile times. We even listed these official times in our first drive of the 2013 GT-R.
Although some aftermarket tuners take the GT-R to near quad-digit horsepower levels, they have a hard time laying all of that power to the ground. The new 2013 Nissan GT-R is better than ever sporting 545 horsepower and 463 ft-lbs. of torque. One could argue that in stock form, the GT-R is at its best. The new GT-R’s 0-60mph time is only 2.7 seconds, just 0.2 seconds slower than the multi-million dollar Bugatti Veyron.
When it comes to the new Nissan GT-R, we are pretty sure MC Hammer said it best… “You can’t touch this”.
|Autocar Drag Race Video: Benz SLS AMG vs. Porsche GT2 RS vs. Lamborghini Aventador||
I am always down for good old fashion drag race especially when the contestants include a selection of new exotic cars. The guys at Autocar get their hands on a new Benz SLS AMG, Porsche GT2 RS and a Lamborghini Aventador all at the same time. What do they do with these three beastly cars? They do what many of you reading this would do; take them to an open runway (or drag strip) to find out which one is the fastest. Sure, anyone can look up the stats of these three cars and see what they will do on paper. But what is the fun in that? Hit up the video below to find out which car leads the pack.
|What’s Faster: A Nissan GT-R Or A Station Wagon?||
That sounds like a simple enough question to answer, right? Especially when you factor in that the station wagon has a slushbox, and is going head to head against the AWD supercar commonly known as “Godzilla”. Let me throw out a warning here: things arem’t always as simple as they first appear, and in this case the station wagon in question is a Cadillac CTS-V, equipped with a Hennessey V650 upgrade. That means it makes 650 horsepower at the crank, instead of the stock 556 horsepower. It’s also wearing drag radials, since it sends power to the rear wheels only. Still think this is an easy kill for the guy in the GT-R? Watch the video to see what happens.
As races go, it doesn’t get much closer than that. Both cars were dead equal to 60 miles per hour (3.5 seconds), but the Caddy tripped the wire in 11.7 seconds at 122 miles per hour. Godzilla managed 11.8 seconds, and a trap speed of 120 miles per hour. As Autoblog points out, the test may have ended differently if Hennessey had run against a 2012 GT-R, which puts out an additional 45 horsepower and is quicker both to 60 miles per hour and in the quarter mile. I say that misses the point entirely, since it’s easy to throw numbers down on paper. Whether you like station wagons or hate them, you’ve got to be impressed with a wagon that goes as fast in a straight line as a Nissan GT-R.
|Video: 9 Second Cadillac CTS-V Drag Run||
When I first drove the new Cadillac CTS-V I was already in complete disbelief on how ridiculously fast it was. To know you can tune this baby to run 9 seconds in the quarter-mile is absolutely astonishing. Enjoy the video below!
