Audi introduced their most powerful version of its new premium light car, the 2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI S line in the UK markets. It will feature a 1.4-liter twin-charged (turbocharged and supercharged) petrol engine capable of producing 136kW of power and 250Nm of torque and accelerate the vehicle to achieve a speed of 0-100kmph in 6.9 seconds.

The engine comes dual charged, and features a supercharger that’ll be active from 1,500 rpm and a turbo charger that powers up from 3500rpm.

The A1 is a front wheel drive vehicle and can reach a top speed of 141mph (227kmph). It features a seven-speed twin-clutch transmission that can offer a better fuel economy. It can manage 100kms at 5.9 liters and has a tidy emission level at 139g/km CO2.

The company has crafted the vehicle with 17-inch alloys and a revised suspension to offer better turn-in characteristics and mid-corner stability and grip.  Audi’s latest ESP system with an electronic limited slip differential has been incorporated into the vehicle for a better handling.

Coming under the exclusive S line exterior design, the Audi A1 will  impress enthusiasts with its  appearance itself.

It also gets part-leather upholstered sports seats, as well as Bluetooth phone connectivity, six-speaker CD system with iPod connectivity and a 6.5-inch retractable display in the interior. The Audi A1 will available in the UK markets from this week and the price starts at £20,705 ($33,370).

The company may also bring in a diesel option for A1 by the second half of 2011.

The proposed diesel variant is expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre engine that can offer 66kW/230Nm. The diesel A1 claims to be one among the most eco-friendly vehicles to hit the markets during the year.
