Gran Turismo Sport To Get 50 More Cars By March 24

When Sony and Polyphony announced Gran Turismo Sport, many were surprised to hear about the game only offering 162 cars. Fortunately, 50 new vehicles are heading to the game.

Autoblog reports that on November 27, Polyphony will release a small update for the game that’ll include the Shelby Cobra 427, Audi R18 Le Mans prototype and Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo. Additionally, this update will allow a greater number of game features to be used without an internet connecting.

In December, another update will be released. It will introduce ‘GT League’, a feature from previous Gran Turismo games. The feature will consist of a host of races for different types of cars, such as those with front- or rear-wheel drive layouts and certain engine types. Also included in this update will be 12 new vehicles.

These are the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible C3, Chris Holstrom Concepts 1967 Chevrolet Nova, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari F40, Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, KTM X-Bow R, Lamborghini Countach LP400, Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A FD3S, Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II R32, Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II R34, Suzuki Swift Sport, and the Volkswagen Samba Bus Type 2.

In March, the most significant update of them all will arrive, bringing with it 35 yet-to-be-announced cars.

Limited-Run Nissan Juke GT Sport Playstation Launches In Europe 15

A limited-run version of the Nissan Juke, dubbed the GT Sport PlayStation, has just been introduced to the Spanish and Portuguese markets.

Created to celebrate Gran Turismo Sport on PlayStation, the special-edition Juke will be limited to just 500 units and be available in either Ultramarine Blue or Pearl White.

To ensure that the Juke GT Sport PlayStation stands out from a run-of-the-mill Juke, the Japanese automaker has fitted a set of Tokyo Black 18-inch wheels, PlayStation graphics, custom badging, faux carbon fiber door sill protectors, Gran Turismo Sport floor mats, and a shark fin antenna.

And yes, buyers will also receive a PlayStation 4 console and a copy of the video game.

Interestingly, the Nissan Juke isn’t actually available in the game. In fact, the only Nissans in the game are different versions of the GT-R and the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo.

Honda’s Baby NSX Emerges As Sports Vision Gran Turismo Concept 9
Nov
Posted by Carscoops Staff in concepts, Gran Turismo, honda, Honda Concepts on 11 9th, 2017

Vision Gran Turismo concepts often take on proportions of the outlandish: Le Mans prototypes, almost, without any regulations or practical considerations to take into account. Honda, however, has taken a different approach.

The Japanese automaker today released its latest contribution to the pantheon of digital sports-car concepts in the form of the Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo. And while it may not be quite ready for the showroom, it looks a lot closer than most of its virtual-reality stablemates.

It also looks familiar: distinctly similar, in fact, to the patent images we saw over two years ago. At that point we thought we were looking at a baby NSX. And it could manifest into just that. But for now, it’s confined to the imaginary world of the Gran Turismo gaming franchise.

The concept was designed by Honda’s studio in California and developed in Japan. And while it may (for the time being) exist principally in digital form, a full-scale model was built and tested in a wind-tunnel – not just in computational fluid dynamics simulators.

The brief calls for carbon-fiber-intensive construction to help keep weight down to a (theoretical) 1982 pounds. That’s just over half of what today’s NSX weighs, a good third less than the old S2000, and barely more than the tiny S660 roadster.

The other side of the power-to-weight ratio is a 2.0-liter DOHC-VTEC turbo four – similar, we’d imagine, to the one found in the Civic Type R, but tuned to produce over 400 horsepower and mated to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission.

It all sounds and looks great. Fantastic, even – which is exactly what this concept is… for now. Here’s hoping it manages to leap off our TV screens and onto the street in the near future.
