Batmobile Tumbler

One thing is for sure. Whether you are male or female, a fan of Batman or not, all of us have thought about what it would feel like to drive the Batmobile at some point or another.

Wouldn’t it be great to evade the traffic cops and track down criminals (bad drivers) in your very own Batmobile? Yes it would. And now, you can – as one of Batman’s famous Batmobile replicas has just been put up for sale.

The Tumbler is a version of the Batmobile found in the Dark Knight trilogy. While Christian Bale (aka Batman) got to drive around in one, 5 other replicas were made around the world and at least one of them can be yours.

The Tumbler features a powerful Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine as well as requisite dual rear wheels, which are 44-inch super Swampers. Sure, he first thing you notice when you look at the monstrous car is wheels, but we sure wouldn’t mind that engine!

Furthermore, the Tumbler has GPS, an iPod integrated sound system as well as 5 cameras all around the car to help you out with the difficult blind spots.

The car was posted as for sale on car collector website, James Edition. It’s current owner, a man from Florida, notes that the car is indeed street legal, but is generally ‘not a daily driver’. We can’t imagine why…

The price tag? A cool $1 million. Small change for someone like Bruce Wayne – and a really wealthy car collector.

So, if you have dreams of flying down the street in a Batmobile, then this is your opportunity. Just don’t think your the real Dark Knight.

Check out the video below to refresh your memory – a scene from the Dark Knight featuring the Tumbler:

Audi is currently driving a very secretive (yet thoroughly exciting) marketing campaign in anticipation of the release of their latest model.

The new model, that no one really knows about, will be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show in March. However, prior to the launch, Audi has been releasing sneaky teaser video’s that only show a glimpse of the new car.

While many expected it to be the 2015 version of the Audi TT, the second teaser video in this series proves that it’s not. The latest video shows a smaller, hatchback car.

Many people are convinced that its the new S1; a sportier version of the A1 (that is also set to get an entire new look). Also, these teaser video’s were shot right here in South Africa! Maybe we can spot the car ourselves somewhere…

What do you think? Is it the S1 or can we expect something completely different?

The first two teaser videos are below. You decide:

ku-xlarge-2

It is hard to imagine a time when Top Gear wasn’t around. The Uk-based motoring show has become a staple in pop future today, and has even spawned many sister series’ in countries across the globe.

But the original trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May still remain the original bunch of petrol head weirdo’s we’ve come to know and love – even now in their 21st season!

Even though the sneak peak trailer is only 11 seconds long, and mostly features Jeremy looking rather bored and annoyed about something, it still makes us want to see more.

Some sources has also confirmed that they array of different cars we’ll se on the she this season, is quite impressive. These include the 2015 Volkswagen GTI, the super sexy McLaren P1 and a lot of V8 super cars.

The trio will also be road tripping on a budget across Thailand and Burma and attend wacky auto shows like the microcar auto show in the UK.

While no word is out yet on when us South Africans can expect season 21 to hit out screens, we’re guessing (hoping) that we are not far behind the UK – which will start screening season 21 on February 2nd.

So, Top Gear fans, check out the short (but funny) teaser clip for the much anticipated season 21:

If there is one way to ensure you get the most out of your marketing budget, it is to have a competition involved somewhere, somehow. And that is exactly what Porsche did for their new Panamera.

In an effort to produce a sleek, beautiful and highly creative advertisement, Porsche invited ten filmmakers to produce a short film for the Panamera that would serve as its commercial.

The tagline read: “Thrilling Contradictions”, which meant these ten filmmakers had to come up with a film that revolves around breathtaking contradictions.

And what better and most primary contradiction is there than fire and ice? Well, Porsche thought it was a great idea, too because they picked Ross Cohen as the winner, with is film entitled: “Fire and Ice”.

According to Cohen and Porsche , the film shows us that “…[sic] the seemingly paradoxical can collide in beautiful and exhilarating fashion”

Cohen was very clever in his approach. Something rather simple in the fact that we have seen so many of it before, but with a certain twist that surely makes it Porsche worthy. The theme? An ice sculpture being made with a (very hot) blow torch. And yes, it is a sculpture of the Panamera that is vein made in the film.

A triumph for Porsche as well as for Cohen (he will be showcasing his film at the Chicago International Film Festival)

Check it out below, it really is beautiful:

Man makes parody video-ad for old Nissan – and Nissan buys it 20

Well this is one way to sell your old, used car. And while still entertaining everyone, even the car manufacturer that made the car!

A filmmaker from Florida, Luke Aker produce this pure gold advertisement under his production company, Ikonik Productions. The ad is parody on new age car advertisements that accentuate every little feature of the car, in the most dramatic and epic way possible.

The video accompanies a Craigslist ad that Aker posted to sell is 1996 Nissan Maxima. Not only is the car almost 18 years old, it is also battered and bruised and lets just say, definitely not in mint condition.

While the ad is truly a piece of fine entertainment, it is what happened after the ad went viral that makes this story so amazing. Somehow, through the powers of the internet, Nissan actually got hold of the ad. They were so impressed with it’s witty style of advertising, that they made Aker an offer to buy the car.

Not only did they purchase the old car, but they also donated $1000 to the Wounded War Project.

Needless to say, the cleverness of this video reaped the benefits in the end. Check out the ad below:

Ron Burgundy

Calling all Anchorman fans! This is one for you – and we can almost guarantee that it will have you up in stitches!

In a (very) clever advertising campaign, Dodge has enlisted the services of world famous,  San Diego anchorman, Ron Burgundy to help promote their new, 2014 Dodge Durango.

Of course, Ron Burgundy is not a real person (although we wish he was) and rather a character made famous by one of comedy’s leading funny-men, Will Ferrel.

And the best part? Ron Burgundy not only filmed one 30-second commercial for Dodge, but an astonishing 67! This all forms part of the company’s YouTube marketing campaign.

We have put together 3 of these commercials for your viewing pleasure so long. In them, Ron discusses horsepower, glove boxes and MPG’s – in that classic Ron Burgundy kind of way.

The ads also tie in with the release of the highly anticipated Anchorman 2 film, that will be released in theaters on December 20th.

Check out the commercials below – but be warned, you might end up LOLing:

Amazing New Fiat Ad 17

Fiat Abarth Cabrio

The latest advertisement for the 2013 Fiat 500 Abrath Cabrio is clever, beautiful and sure to grab your attention!

The ad was shot to be featured in ESPN Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’. The concept of a ‘Body Issue’ was conceived to, according to the magazine, “admire the vast potential of the human form,” and to “unapologetically stand in awe of the athletes who’ve pushed their physiques to profound frontiers”

We can imagine that creating and shooting this ad was no easy task. Precision and intense focus must have been the order of the day.

All of the women who appear in this advert were specifically chosen for their bodies and unique athletic and gymnastic abilities. Obviously, the women had to be strong to be able to hold certain positions for hours at a time.

The hours of posing and planning was definitely worth it, as the end result was mid-blowing. The marketing team really did an outstanding job with the concept and it was executed wonderfully.

A Fiat made from beautiful women – now isn’t that any man’s dream?

Vilner takes on the BMW 5-Series F10 and 6-Series M F12 4
Mar
Posted by Kelly Levinsohn in Auto Advertising, Autostyle on 03 4th, 2013

Take a look at Vilner’s two new projects – the BMW 5-Series F10 and 6-Series M F12 both received full modifications from the luxury tuning specialists.

Both vehicles were foiled in white matte and new spoilers were added to the rear hoods.

The true craftsmanship of Vilner however can be seen throughout the interior of both models. While the interior of the 5-Series was entirely changed, the white theme was continued inside the coupe with white leather wrapping and contrast created with accents of black and red.

The rearview mirror was wrapped in Alcantara, which has become somewhat of a trademark for Vilner’s interior styling modifications.

For the 6 Series model, the tuning professionals changed only certain details. The steering wheel was also modified with an ivory coloured Alacantra.

In addition, the airbag, ceiling, the back of the rear seats, the rearview mirror and all plastic elements of the seats as well as those around the rest of the vehicle were wrapped in Alcantara.

Mercedes Benz rolls out invisible car 6

invisible car mercedes Mercedes Benz rolls out invisible car

When it came time for Mercedes Benz to promote its new fuel cell vehicle, the German auto manufacturer decided to use it as an opportunity to create an innovative and unique marketing sketch. Rather than simply display the car for the public to view, it decided to make it invisible. Ultimately an innovative driving technology needs an innovative way to promote it.

The decision to make the car ‘invisible’ emphasizes that its F-Cell vehicle has no exhaust emissions, making it virtually invisible to the environment. That’s pretty clever. This was achieved by placing a mat of LEDs across the entire one side of the vehicle and mounting a video shooting Canon 5D Mark II digital SLR camera on the other side.

Mercedes has said that its hydrogen-powered drive system is “ready for series production,” but other reports have its commercialization expected only in 2014. However, fuel-cell technology is still extremely expensive, partly because hydrogen is a difficult fuel to store and transport and the materials needed to create a viable fuel-cell are also very pricey.

As you can see from the video below, while people can still very obviously see the car passing by, they are clearly intrigued and impressed by its invisibility.

The 2013 Audi S7 Sportback is powered by a 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 making 420-hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Mated to 6-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel-drive, the S7 Sportback accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
