New-Gen Honda Civic Pictures Out; Silver-hued Prototypes Spotted Sans Camouflage 12

The very first images of the long awaited next generation Honda Civic are out!  A couple of silver colored prototypes were spotted without any camouflage during a test run. The font of the car has been completely redone – the old curves have been wiped away and replaced with a sharper design – which seems to enable wider and lower air intake.

On both the sides of the vehicle, optional fog light cut outs were seen; though these were covered by silver tape. There was also a bit of camouflage on the base of the A-pillar and C-pillar and on the rear bumper – which could be covering up some surprise design elements.

Headlamps seem to be similar to the ones on similar models available in the US; and the car sports a character line that runs through the body. The arrow shaped cluster of rear lamps looks more like that on the City – quite different from the circular look of the previous model. The dash board in the interior is the same – rising sharply toward the driver; the usual three spoke steering wheel has two four way controllers on both the sides. A host of buttons are in array for controls, eliminating all the knobs that used to exist previously.

The car has an ‘Econ’ button that will help to give maximum efficiency to the engine, transmission and cooling functions.

Sources were unable to checkout the engine, but say that it is most likely to have a 1.5 liter unit – which would be smaller than the 1.8 140bhp one which exists in current models. This would help increase fuel efficiency, but cut down on acceleration.
