Porsche has posted record sales figures in the United States for 2017, as last year it sold a total of 55,420 vehicles, a 2.1 per cent increase over the previous year.

The brand’s most popular model in the U.S. was, once again, the Macan, with 21,429 sales, a significant increase over the 19,332 sold in 2016. The Cayenne was the second-most-popular vehicle with 13,203 examples delivered, followed by the 911 with 6,731 sales.

As for Porsche’s premium sedan, the Panamera, 6,731 examples were sold last year, while the Boxster and Cayman duo racked up 5,087 sales.

In a statement, Porsche Cars North America president and chief executive Klaus Zellmer said this is the brand’s eighth consecutive year of increased sales in the United States.

“Demand for four-door and two-door Porsche sports cars allowed PCNA to achieve another annual record in 2017, making it the eighth consecutive year of increased sales. The Macan and Panamera model lines posted double-digit growth, and we can expect an additional boost with the arrival of our all-new Cayenne in the second half of the year.”

2019 Bentley Bentayga V8 To Rated At 550 HP, Could Use Cayenne Turbo Engine 5
Jan
Posted by Michael Gauthier in Bentley, Bentley Bentayga, porsche, Porsche Cayenne, Reports on 01 5th, 2018

Last week reports surfaced that Bentley was preparing to offer a twin-turbo V8 engine in the Bentayga.

That rumors has apparently been confirmed as Autoguide has unearth documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that reveal the 2019 Bentayga will be available with a new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 550 PS (404 kW). The document doesn’t reveal much else but it seems like the Bentayga will use the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that resides in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

In the Porsche, the engine produces 550 PS (404 kW) and 770 Nm (567 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 286 km/h (177 mph).

For comparison, the Bentayga’s 6.0-liter W12 engine develops 608 PS (447 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. The mill allows the luxury crossover to run from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and top out at 301 km/h (187 mph).

Initial reports suggested the V8 variant will be launched in July and it will be joined by a plug-in hybrid model which is slated to debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Toronto police are hunting for an arsonist who set fire to a Porsche Cayenne in a brazen attack on December 29th, 2017.

The unidentified arsonist, believed to be a man, was filmed by a security camera outside a home, dousing the interior of the German SUV with gasoline before lighting it on fire and making his getaway.

While it is not clear from the footage, police suggest the man smashed the front passenger window before starting the fire.

Taking to YouTube, the Toronto Police Service is asking for public assistance in finding the man, asserting that he fled the scene in a white four-door sedan. He was seen wearing a dark jacket, gloves, and black boots. Authorities believe the man could have sustained serious injuries.

Those with information have been urged to contact the police at 416-808-5500 or to call Crime Stoppers on 416-222-TIPS.

Watch The Lambo Urus Take On Its Closest Rivals In Forza 7 20

Now that the Lamborghini Urus has arrived, the big question is how it will stack up against the competition.

That’ll be a difficult question to answer, not least because the Urus doesn’t really have any direct competition – positioned as it is well above any other performance SUV out there, and with much more power.

But it does have some rivals that come close, like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the BMW X6 M, for example – models which also have twin-turbo V8s displacing four-some-odd liters to deliver prodigious performance, albeit not quite at the level of the Urus.

It may take a while yet before anyone’s able to put these three (or really any other would-be contenders) in the same place. But in the meantime, the gamer/YouTuber known as Dizeuul has put them together in the cyperspace of Forza 7 (brought to our attention by our friends at Motor1).

A reliable comparison? Maybe not. But the programmers at Turn 10 Studios pour considerable energy and expertise into getting the vehicles and their environments just right, so it may not be that far off.

New Porsche Cayenne Turbo Tears Up The Roads Of Greece 5
Dec
Posted by Brad Anderson in porsche, Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Videos, reviews, video on 12 5th, 2017

The latest-generation Porsche Cayenne looks a hell of a lot better than its predecessor. But do its driving characteristics match the sleek looks?

Carlos Lago from Edmunds recently headed to Greece to jump behind the new Cayenne in Turbo trim and as you’d probably expect, was full of praise for the SUV.

Sitting at the heart of the new Cayenne Turbo is a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine delivering 542 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. Those figures are slightly greater than they were with the previous-generation Cayenne Turbo but that is far from the whole story.

Rather than simply making the new Cayenne Turbo faster in a straight line, Porsche has ensured that it is better in all areas, therefore installing an advanced air suspension system that adapts to the driving conditions.

Additionally, the Turbo includes a similar rear-wheel steering system to other Porsche models, allowing the SUV to take tight corners with ease while offering excellent stability at high speeds.

Porsche’s Bringing The Noise To LA With Four Major Debuts 27

Porsche is making a big splash at the Los Angeles Auto Show this year, bringing not just one or two, but four new models to unveil to the public for the first time – and another for its US debut.

Lined up for Zuffenhausen’s mission at the SoCal expo are the new 718 Boxster GTS, 718 Cayman GTS, Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, 911 Carrera T, and the all-new Cayenne.

Not that we haven’t “seen” any of these before, mind you. They’ve all been revealed online. But this will be the first chance that members of the public will have to see them in the metal.

The GTS versions stand as the new top of the 718 line, packing a 2.5-liter turbo four good for 365 horsepower in either coupe (Cayman) or convertible (Boxster) form, for a 0-62 (0-100 km/h) time as low as 4.1 seconds. Baby Porsche indeed. Prices hover around the $80k mark, with deliveries kicking off in March.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is a hybrid performance wagon with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired to an electric motor for a combined output of 680 PS (671 HP), sending it to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h) – yours for $188,400 (once deliveries commence in the spring).

The new 911 Carrera T takes a driver-centric approach to Porsche’s iconic sports car, with a manual transmission, less weight, and a whole raft of other enhancements. Deliveries for the 370 PS (365 HP) model begin in March from $102,100.

Finally, the third-generation Cayenne will bow for the first time in America at the LA show. The 340 PS (335 HP) base and 440 PS (434 HP) S models will start showing up in US showrooms in the middle of the new year, priced from $65,700 and $82,900, respectively.

TechArt Definitely Knows How To Make A Porsche’s Interior Feel Special 26

German tuner TechArt is arguably the go-to company when it comes to building a fully customized interior for your Porsche.

The level of quality found inside some of these Panameras, 911s and Cayennes is truly impressive, and trying to find your favorite accentuating color, let alone favorite interior, doesn’t sound too easy.

Yet, let’s give it a shot, as we browse through these images, showing a bunch of customized Porsche interiors, each seemingly more exquisite than the next.

For example, some of these interiors almost feature more Alcantara than they do leather. You can see it on the door pillars, roof lining, door panels, seats, armrests, the works. Then, you’ve got carbon fiber all over most of these dashboards and center consoles, and you can even get carbon fiber grab handles on your Porsche SUV.

As for the leather upholstery, customers can opt for custom stitching in just about any color they can think of. We’re particularly fond of orange on black – how about you?

Cheapest Cayenne Turbo In The U.S. Costs Just $6,100 And Is Still Going Strong 18

Even though YouTuber Tyler Hoover usually jokes about his compulsion to purchase old premium cars, it seems that there really are some good investments out there.

This 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo joined his fleet about six months ago and has been driven for 6,000 miles (9,656 km) across five states. To everyone’s surprise, not a single thing has gone wrong as the car has proven to be remarkably reliable.

Hoover thinks that the first-generation Cayenne Turbo is an inherently reliable car because Porsche actually “overbuilt” it, making sure the powertrain was very solid all round.

In a way, it makes sense, seen as how this car needs to be able to handle the 450 horses it puts down via its turbocharged V8 engine, while also staying ready for any off-road excursion. Besides, Porsche really are known for engineering their cars properly.

This Cayenne has also received some mods along the way, such as the upgraded air suspension, which helps it have a more slammed look thanks to the longer rods that connect the height sensors to the axles.

Is The New 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Worth The Wait? 4
Nov
Posted by Michael Karkafiris in porsche, Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Videos, video on 11 4th, 2017

The new third generation of the Porsche Cayenne has arrived but don’t let the evolutionary styling trick you into believing that not that much has changed. In fact, everything has changed.

It’s a brand new car the third-gen Cayenne, from the platform to the powertrains and from the onboard tech to the electrical architecture, as Porsche wanted to make sure that it covers every base possible to keep its money-making machine at the very top of its game.

One of the highlights of the new Cayenne is the adoption of the 48-volt architecture which enabled the company to use its very clever active roll stabilizers in order to combine the proper Porsche handling with plush ride quality that was missing from the previous model.

Other tricks up the new Cayenne’s sleeve include a rear-wheel steering, torque vectoring, an adaptive air suspension with three air chambers and even an active rear wing. Of course the biggest trick is having a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 542hp and 568lb-ft of torque, which sends the Cayenne Turbo to 62mph in 3.9 seconds, if fitted with the Sport Chrono pack.

Carfection had a go in the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo on the beautiful roads of Crete and the initial impressions are more than convincing.
