The 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS, which will go on sale in January next, will  come with a price tag set at a minimum of €59,857, including 19% value added tax. Customers will get a CLS 250 CDI BlueEfficiency with a 204-horsepower (150-kW) four-cylinder 2.1-liter diesel engine when they opt to take this latest Mercedes offering home.

Detailed pricing for the models: the 265-hp (195-kW) six-cylinder 3.0-liter diesel, found on the CLS 350 CDI BlueEfficiency, will cost an additional €3,570; and the top-of-the-line CLS 350 BlueEfficiency, which has a 306-horsepower (225-kW) 3.5-liter six-cylinder petrol engine, will carry a €64,617 price tag.

All the three engines used in the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS models are direct injection models, and will be hooked up to the seven-speed G-Tronic Plus transmission.

Prices will climb once more options are added – and greatly adding to the temptation of buying this car is the deal that in the first production year, customers will get a chance to buy the “Edition 1″ package.

This comes with manganite grey matte paint, pearl metallic leather upholstery, a dark roof liner, aluminum pedals and special floormats.  The Edition 1 kit boosts the cost by €6,664; if one upgrades to the AMG Carbon trim, another €10,115 kicks in.

For a premium price other accessories like LED headlights, various drivers systems and parking assist are available to complement standard features. Reports say that first deliveries will begin in April.
