Saab 9-3 First Test Models Leaked Out 7
Posted by Alex Ion in 2012, 9-3, Automotive News, BMW, car, engine, Hatchback, Saab on 02 7th, 2011

We know that the next generation Saab 9-3 is under development and now the early chassis test mules with few modifications (extended wheel arches) have been found running on some roads in Southern Europe.

The car parts are sourced from various automakers, especially BMW. But the model will be based on a modified version of the Epsilon I platform and we expect the company to offer it as a three- and five-door hatchback.

Saab made an engine purchasing agreement with BMW during last September and that made them to have an access to a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine equipped with start/stop technology.

This turbo engine that is featured in the MINI Cooper comes with three level of options – 175 PS (129 kW / 173 hp), 184 PS (135 kW / 181 hp) and 208 hp (155 kW / 211 PS).

BMW’s new 2.0-liter turbo engine with 222 hp (166 kW / 225 PS) is also rumored to be features in the 9-3.

The Saab 9-3 will be a 2012 launch and the company has further plans to introduce a hybrid version of the model. They will also launch an electric vehicle by 2016.

G-Power has brought on the new Hurricane GS, based on the BMW M5 (E60). They claim this model to be the fastest LPG-powered vehicle on the planet. The Hurricane GS has clinched the fastest LPG car title from the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 gas powered BMW 3-Series Coupe (E92) which hit a top speed of 318.1 km/h.

The Hurricane GS is brought with an SK II package with an LPG conversion along with two ASA superchargers, a water-cooled intercooler, and a remapped ECU. The 5.0 liter V10 engine has the capacity to offer an output of  660 PS (485 kW / 650 hp) and 650 Nm (479 Nm) of torque.

This engine can speed up the car from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 11.4 seconds. The top speed is claimed to be 333km/h (207 mph).

It is notable that LPG is said to be 50% less expensive than petrol and this package will cost you a whopping €33,571.43 ($43,400) and you’ll have to pay extra for the installation.

After the installation, the CO2 emission from the vehicle is expected to be reduced by 15%.

Posted by Alex Ion in automatic, Automotive News, car, Concept car news, crossover, engine, platform, Saab, Saab 9-4X, Theta, Transmission, Upcoming Events, wheel. on 09 29th, 2010

Pictures of the Saab 9-4X crossover have appeared online, in the form of spy images. The car, scheduled to make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, will be based on the same underpinnings as the Chevrolet Equinox GMC Terrain and the Cadillac SRX, which are built on GM’s Theta platform with all-wheel-drive.

It is expected that the car will be coming with a 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 engine. But there are some who suggest the possibility of the 2.0-liter turbo four which is seen in the new 9-5 (already out on the road). Both engines will most likely be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

There are also rumors that the tail lamps might look different when the production model comes out. Just wait until the car is unveiled at the auto show and you will know a lot more about it.

A leaked letter has revealed that the new Ferrari 599 Roadster was unveiled in a private presentation at Pebble Beach. The letter, which was leaked to Luxury4Play.com, was apparently written by Ferrari North America President Marco Mattiacci.

The letter thanks the attendees for their “first feedback” on this “upcoming limited edition product”. We believe that the car that is being talked about is the Roadster. There’s no way to verify the authenticity of this letter, but it looks legit.

The car was revealed during the Concours d’Elegance at Quail Meadows outside of Pebble Beach. Earlier, there had been a lot of rumors related to the unveiling of the V12 powered Roadster.

It is now expected that the model will roll out as a limited edition product. We wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up at a future auto show too.

This is the successor of “Nagare” styling theme, which stood for “flow”. The design language was created through a collaboration involving Mazda’s design studios in Germany, the United States and Japan.

The car shows the future face of Mazda’s family of vehicles, an aluminum signature wing, as well as the overall styling trend for future production models.

Sail over Cars, Race Past the Maddening Traffic; China’s 3D Express Coach Might Let You Do That 28
Posted by Alex Ion in 3D Express Coach, Autostyle, Bus, car, china, Concept car news, Modified car Talk, Off Topic, Shenzhen Huashi Future Car-Parking Equipment Company, traffic on 08 28th, 2010

Ever dreamt of sailing over those long lines of cars on the highway? You may soon get to see something of that sort happening in China! The Communist nation is planning a huge bus that can drive over cars. Take a look at the picture below to see what it would look like.

The idea has taken birth at the Shenzhen Huashi Future Car-Parking Equipment Company. The so called 3D Express Coach is expected to be completed by the end of next year. More pictures below:

The awesome bus will travel on rails and straddles two lanes of traffic, allowing cars to drive 15 feet below where its passengers are seated. It will hold 1,200 people and travel up to 50 miles per hour.

Its $7.5 million price tag is roughly one-tenth of what it costs to build a subway of the same length. The gigantic bus is expected to solve Beijing’s traffic problems. But what if the idea is transplanted to some highway in South Africa? It really won’t work in South Africa. We do not want to think twice before agreeing with the friend who sent us these pictures. Check out the photo below to know what we are talking about! :)
